Well why hasn't anyone mentioned that a mono version of the Cuthbert Transmitter exists?

All the mentions mention the now-famous Cuthbert C-QUAM Stereo Transmitter, in ignorance of the fact that AM stereo is a has been event from long-ago and exists today only as a novelty.

Wondering what remained in the way of kits, I read closely the excellent review by Radio Jay Allen and deep in his text is mention of a mono version!

What's All This

Watched a Sean Cuthbert YouTube Video in which he mostly talks about the stereo unit but happens to mention the lower priced mono transmitter, said the best place to make contact is through Ebay where sales take place.

Evidently there is no Cuthbert website.

Found only one selection on YouTube in which the seller (Sean himself) says there are only two stereo kits remaining until after he moves, with more kits planned for after Xmas 2018.

Unable to find mono kit for sale.

Everybody back to work. Nothing to see here.

You can also get it fully built also if you don't want to do it yourself.

Due to the radio Sheriff on a well-known website who is Posse was looking to find out where Sean Cuthbert lived so that he could be reported for selling fully assembled kits that were non-certified Sean Cuthbert was notified of this and I do not believe as of this point he is selling fully built units at least not publicly.

Due to the radio Sheriff you will have to find someone who is willing to build it for you but if you find that person I wouldn't publicly disclose on a website who that person is because the radio Sheriff will put him on the snitch list.

Thank you TheLegacy for information about the disgusting "radio sheriff" who continues to harm the hobby and its suppliers.

You can always see the "Snitch List" on my site as an Elite Member but again you need to show your loyalty to get the access due to this Radio Sheriff. Its always has been the real reason for the Elite section. Its not to degrade anyone who is really interested in this hobby and minds their own business without causing harm to the other people in the hobby.

I've been also on many forums on Facebook where Sean is. Hint he had to move because of harassment from this Radio Sheriff as he has mentioned on some of these more discrete forums out there that are Invite Only. DON'T ASK I WON'T TELL!! but those who want to know the scoop on C-Quam AM Stereo TX's should now take my site seriously as we no longer promote FM as part of Hobby Broadcasting and have moved on to something workable Part 15 AM and rule reform for a General Broadcaster Service (Note we eliminate the word Hobby as per some FCC agents who like The Legacy suggested it sounds cheesy and could hurt the cause . The agent likes General Broadcaster Service better.

Good Luck to all you General Broadcasters out there.

Politics Within

For a long time I had elite status and often visited TheInitiative site, but following a recent incident where some unnamed persons were accused of being "rouge (sic) elements" I found that my user-name and password no longer worked.

That's o.k. because I've retired from being a major promoter of this hobby, having spent over 10-years at it while it's fizzled into an arcane pastime along with antique radios.

The "List of Snitches" is an interesting idea, but there will always be the occasional "nice guy" who remains trusted while he fools everyone (I won't spoil the fun by naming anyone).

It's interesting that "some FCC agents" think hobby radio sounds cheesy while "the agent" prefers "General Broadcaster Service". We've lost count of how many agents are involved.

I like the term "general broadcaster".

Makes me sound better.

I never Deleted you. Don't know why you can't get in I'll check. Some users who have not posted in 1 yr get auto deleted.

I do watch for rouge users but also some FM related threads were removed.

Truly the site is undergoing a change in direction but the snitch list is innovative and helpful. Hope Sean Cuthbert joins along with other ride or die folks.

That Explains it Then

Thank you TheLegacy for checking.

I had not posted in over a year which explains why my password went off.

I'll re-join so I can get back in the action.

Sean Cuthbert is one of the active developers and deserves as much support as we can give him, especially defending him from the trouble-makers.

We Got In!

It took some time but I convinced the robotic software to allow me to enter TheInitiative low power radio website... I tried to explain to it that I am a robot (it wanted me to prove I wasn't a robot (!?))

A lot has been going on there and I think more low power believers should join!

Good work guys!!

To TheInitiative Admin

When I tried to log in as a New Member the robot told me I AM ALREADY A MEMBER!

But now I am also a New Member.

I will send TheLegacy a private Email with details so the Admin can remove my Double Entry.

Anyway, things look strong over there!

The correct word is rogue, not 'rouge' (which is French for red). It's difficult to take people seriously with those kinds of errors in communication.

I personally don't have a problem with individuals, inside the hobby or out, that report rule violators. I don't have the time or inclination to do so, but obviously others have lots of time and plenty of inclination on their hands. To each his/her own. Although that particular rule (not selling assembled kits) is pretty silly - you get the same end result if you hire somebody to assemble a kit, and their qualifications probably don't equal Cuthbert's (after all, he designed it and presumably has built multiple examples).

Going behind closed doors isn't the answer. If Part 15 broadcasting is to survive, and even move forward, the practitioners have to openly demonstrate that they are both willing and capable of following whatever rules exist. Then the FCC might consider more leniency.

Otherwise, we just look like wannabe pirates.

There is already one site that operates behind closed doors. We don't need another. I am sorry if one disagrees with another they become labeled as "rouge."

Calling It Quits

Yesterday we spent a good hour fiddling with re-joining TheInitiative website and discovered that our original membership was still active, which I wrote about in this thread and was able to peruse the Elite Section which was named in recognition of my status in life.

BUT NOW I AM LISTED AS "NEW MEMBER" AND AM BLOCKED FROM THE ELITE SECTION!

I don't mean to yell, but I don't have time for goofy nonsense and request that all my memberships be removed from TheInitiative website for a 1-year cooling off period.

I still hope you all get 2-miles for AM General Broadcasting.
