Up until now the Internet Building in the Center of North America has been spared the intense winter weather hitting the eastern Homeland (formerly U.S.).
But here it comes, temperatures on the express down elevator, snow in the threat, so far no exact amount is predicted, but that could mean it'll be plenty, we just don't know how plenty.
Within ear-shot of Ferguson, Missouri, only this morning at 8-Hours Universal Time (2 AM CST) there was a deep "boom" heard, but newscasts during the next several hours did not mention an explosion, which means it could have been another small car crushed by a truck on the nearby highway. Or, it could have been a meteor entering the atmosphere faster than the speed of sound. Whatever it was, the temperature is going down.
To deal with the coming Arctic blast KDX Worldround Radio has established the "Hunker Bunker", a sheltered corner filled with tropical pictures.
If the telephone poles remain standing, we will be on the wires and wireless.
Partly to mostly cloudy. A few flurries or snow showers possible. Low -3F. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph.
Last night a light misty drizzle came down with temperatures hovering around freezing, low enough to cause icing and slippery conditions. This morning a light dusting of snow with ice required warming the vehicles before the morning scrapping routine.
Last night WCFI-LP experienced the effects of antenna icing with SWR as high as 2.8:1 setting off "high reflected power" and "SWR foldback" alarms serveral times during the night. The station did remain on the air all night with SWR down to 1.7:1 this morning.
We had no reports of explosions from the west...
Temperature is currently 7 degrees F. We got the 1 inch predicted.
The temperature is supposed to be around 1 degree at 0500 EST tomorrow morning.
Fridays high around 21 dropping to 18 at night.
Saturdays high around 25 and then the bottom drops out with Saturday evening at -6 and windy with snow.
Sundays high around 7 and Sunday night -8.
Better check the anti-freeze...
Every time I look at the local NOAA forecast it has significantly changed.
We were heading downward in temperature but tomorrow, Friday, will all of a sudden go to a high of 40 degrees F.
Saturday night when Cuyahoga Falls gets -6 we expect +6.
Monday there was a 60% chance of snow but now only 30%.
It's o.k.
When the polar weather ends the tornadoes will arrive.
Heavy snowfall was averted and the 2" we had was easily cleared in 20-degree sun with no wind.
Wednesday will drop from 12 to -1_F with gusts to 28mph, but consider West Virginia where Tha Dood is watching for 1-foot MORE on top of already whatever.
The End Time is taking its good time. Got to have a lot of misery in the Last Days.

HAARP!
KDX Worldround Radio on the Mississippe River near Ferguson Missouri is preparing to shut down and disconnect in advance of a severe thunderstorm.
Conditions at the moment are nighttime dark as of 9:45 AM CDT with thunder in the west.
The action can be viewed on the lightning map
http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en
The Lightning Map was first linked by John WDCX, and gives a near real-time view of lightning strikes and thunder radiation rings.
The area west of us is being hit hard.
I'll be in the basement by the washer-drier.
1-hour 5-minutes we were shut down while engulfed in outdoor blackness, lightning as close as 1/2 mile, AM radio loaded with dancing static.
The electric power remained on, although we had emergency lamp at the ready.
No high winds, no observed damage.
Listened to a local AM station which was hard to hear due to static, but as the storm skimmed to the north-east it was interesting to note the gradual lowering of the static until now, when it's quiet.
Back on the air and stream (isn't that the name of a magazine?) but it remains very dar for almost noon and creepy still.
While subjected to so much static on the radio I noticed that lightning noise is never in tempo, not in step, fails to have a regular beat. In fact, it is anti-tempo, anti-step, anti-beat. Hard to do if you're a drummer.
Looks like the bulk has moved into Illinois.
MY GOD I'M PICNICING.......... I MEAN PAN CAKING........ NO, I AM PANICING!
This has only been a test, but a real storm is passing through as I speak, er, type.
Lightning woke me from a noontime nap, thunder, rather.
Rain is pouring. Well, what else would it be? It's pouring. Don't have to mention rain. Obviously it's rain.
The worst of it may already be over... I need to look at the lightning map.
WHOA. IT LOOKS UGLY! A MASSIVE LINE OF STORMS COVERING THE ENTIRE GULF COAST, EXTENDING ALL THE WAY UP THE MISSISSIPPI TO HERE AND THEN VEERING LEFT ALL THE WAY TO NEBRASKA.
Got to jot down a will leaving my transmitters to the ALPB.
A major tornado watch area exists in the central U.S. with east-to-west width being state-sized and north-to-south length extending from the top of Missouri/Illinois down to the gulf coast.
The watch area is moving slowly east.
As of 4:20 PM a spot on the Mississippi River one county south of Quincy, Illinois is under a Tornado Warning.
Expect further reports.
KDX Worldround Radio is still under a tornado watch that has drifted one-county toward the east.
A new Tornado Warning is in effect downriver near Chester, Illinois.
Wish the HAARP folks would take a snack break and cut this s__ out!
Dark weather is shuffling around, the AM radio is popping, and the lightning map shows blasts from space hitting stuff.
We'll hold out on the air as long as we can, but if this is it, I just want you to know it's been trippy.
This part 15 may be small, but lightning has a way.
Back to being hot without the storm, but nothing lasts if it's short.
Then I had some wierd computer problems but that's for another thread.
The summer heat makes more things seem intolorable that we might otherwise put up with.
I'm talking about poor audio quality on good radio programs. It's very common and sometimes goes on for months and years, the producers never learn anything about better audio.
This heat makes the programs more annoying to me than ever and I'm thinking about firing every program that irritates me no matter how good it is.
If I get rid of them my program day will be very short and I can spend time on the new hobby -- building bird houses.
None of those programmers post here at part 15 so I can talk about them behind their backs.
