It's 1:08 AM CST here in the midwaste and I have gone on night patrol because of gusty winds up to 40 MPH.
From 9:30 last night until about midnight I went deeply asleep, but when I heard the howling wind I decided to enter emergency mode waiting for the power to go out or the crash of a falling tree.
Looking across the bands at the spectrum analyzer screen I saw some jiggly bumps around 5 MHz so I tuned in on shortwave and found Art Bell at 5080 kHz with a guest talking about tornadoes in the desert, on WTWW Lebanon, Tennessee.
Much better than local AM at this hour because everything there is sports and Jesus. The irony is that Jesus never played sports.
Local FM has that "no one is actually on duty" pre-recorded sound.
I might sign on the air and test something, like frequency response or something. On the other hand, talking about it makes me sleepy. Very sleepy.
Not here yet but some of your winds are supposed to visit here later today along with some light rain or possible thunder storm.
The prediction is for gusts up to 40 mph.
Tighten up those guy wires...
Blue Bucket Radio's Acurite weather shows wind gust's of 15 mph this morning at 66 degrees.
The fact that our weather station is recording windspeeds let's me know it is still standing and has not blown away.
We had a gust of 9 mph.
