I have a chance to get a broadcast vision axs-fmt fm transmitter for $ 25.
Your opinion counts, is this a good buy? What are some possible applications?
Any mods or hacks?
Thanks
I am using the newer version of this transmitter which you can see on Broadcastvision's web site. The newer version is also Industry Canada certified and this older model is only FCC certified but if you are in the USA that's fine.
Very good range and sound quality and made in the USA not China. $25 is a great price for this....too good in fact...check for a catch before you get it.
NO HACKS, works at fixed power, not like the Ccrane where there's a power adjustment and it's not needed, works very well. If is like the newer current model the on board limiting and AGC really works.
Check to see if label on the bottom has the FCC certification #

Thanks for your reply. The picture the seller provides shows part 15 certification.
I am confirming the condition of the transmitter with the seller but I am also assuming that the fact it powers on is a very good sign.
I believe the low price may be based partly on the seller's unfamiliarity with the product.
watch those, i have gotten a few with blown finals (urepairable due to multi layer surface mounting) or the finals blew shortly after only a few days of running. the newer models have protection for the finals.
Blown finals sound bad.
I guess i will see if i have blown $25 in a few days when it arrives.
In the mean time, I have a Scosche FMT4 Fm Transmitter on the way too.
I have an idea about covering my apartment pool with it. I will start a thread to generate ideas for that project soon.
Received the BVe transmitter today.
plugged in, powered up, attached mp3 player and I am amazed with the range.
$25 was a good price! Sure like to know how you came across that!
Only problem for me is only the newer models are Industry Canada certified.
