The popular player and streaming engine Winamp, together with the popular Shoutcast Streaming Directory, now having been taken over by new owner Radioonomy, are worth a look.
Check out the new lean look of the freshly designed websites.
I dont know how many of you use Winamp for ripping cd's, but I have had trouble with the latest version. The ripped file's all have dropouts. I even got the same trouble when it was installed on a new windows install. Reinstalled the version before and it fixed the problem. I like using Winamp for ripping because it uses Gracenote for getting the cd info for the mp3 tag's. Gracenote finds more info than the others.
Johny, I also used Winamp to convert CDs to other formats and had the same trouble when it stopped working properly.
I was lucky to right away find an open source software that is wonderful.
I found it at sourgeforge.net, but I'll post the direct link...
