Hi Guys,
Ever consider wifi broadcasting?? there are wifi boomboxes and now a
portable wifi walkman for receiveing streaming stations. with a good wifi
setup you can easily cover a town w/o the need for a license. you can stream
full stereo at 128k or more. multiple stations can also band together and chip in towards a wifi installation and each can have his/her own virtual channel ๐
the gears are turning ๐

Wifi broadcasting is a reality. Unlicensed WiFi stations are being built all across the U.S. The receivers are still a little pricey. But, for the radio junkie, what is too expensive?
A friend suggested I look up a company making systems under the trade name "Trango". The high band digital sytems can carry digital signals, audio, control signals or video. Systems on 900 Mhz, 2.4 Ghz and 5.8 Ghz got my interest.
The company also offers antenna systems and other accessories.
I am using a 5.8 Ghz system as a studio transmitter link for multiple Am transmitter sites around town.
With a 2.4 Ghz omni antenna, a system could be used for broadcast purposes. ๐
