i'll bite...
it's an acoustical pacifier. i often times find myself listening to talk radio just becasue the house is too darn quiet. being able to occassionally call the guy on the radio names because i dont agree with his political views at times is just the icing on the cake.
radio news also keeps you sharp. why wait till the 6 or 10 oclock news? radio news is typically more timely.
as far as music though.. i dont really listen to the radio for music. clearchannel did a wonderful job of creating a top 10 wasteland on the music dial.
