The Frequency List on the heading of this Forum may need expansion to include the vacated analog TV channels now known as "white spaces." Since this spectrum is seemingly being opened for unlicensed use we expect it to result in new pages added to the Part 15 rules. It may be too early to speculate, but I'd love to hear opinions about what new resources may become available to Part 15 insiders, other than plain internet connection, which is the only spectrum use that's been talked about so far.
My prediction is that the frequencies which will be available for personal use outside certified part 15 equipment purchased from manufacturers will be NONE.
Zero, zip, nada.
It will be driven by $$$ and the hobbyist will not be in the arena.

Your so right Neil,
I would love to see that band open up for any use.
Something i would be willing to experiment with is music on the audio portion and public service announcements, weather, news in print on the video portion.
Something like what the cable company does on the public access channels. Also a good chance for electronics development such as cell phones or home phones with video phone capabilites.
All we can do is sit and wait, enjoy what we have to work with right now.
