Howdy, this is Brooce.

I've been looking at what is happening

here.

Everything else aside, the Part 15 experiments

are always happening - if not with actual hardware,

they are on paper - or in my mind almost all the time.

It's always been that way.

At the same time, I am always experimenting with receiving.

LF, MF, and HF and some VHF almost all of the time.

It is a challange that I am enjoying - and this is an

apartment where there are no outside antennas (for now.)

I just don't know the people here well enough to start

the "imposition" of outside RF radiators.

I have gear, two antenna phasors, a magnetic loop,

a DSP box, and a lot of other things here.

I have several Part 15 rigs also - something is almost

always running - although the power is usually very very

low.

Ham radio is in the middle somewhere - I have a ham

license.  If I can get the two above ideas "maximized"

ham radio will be no problem.  It would be QRP of course.

I like to fly below the radar.

I have always looked upon my experiments as

"some kind of humorous undertaking.  And in many

ways they are.

But things are turning more to the serious side now.

I want these things to really work.

It's just a change of philosophy, I guess.

Brooce

P.S.  No comments needed here unless you want to.

P.S. #2  Thank to those who fixed the site after it had

gone down.  We can't thank you enough!

Great ideas start with a single thought in a single mind and it is good to read that your mind is thinking about radio things.

When I have a great idea it usually turns out that someone else has had this idea before me which is OK because I can benefit from their experience rather than wasting time reinventing things, but once in a while I hit on something original.

If you have a radio problem or need suggestions then this site is a good place to start.  We are here to help each other.

I'm always glad to hear from you.

Summer is almost upon us.

There will be less family here and I

will have more time available to experiment.

I am interested in trying to make better indoor

Part 15 AM transmitting antennas.  I may have

to run the AMT-3000 on batteries also.  That would be

a fun thing to try.  Especially considering that the transmitter

want to see 18 to 20 volts DC!

On the receiving end, I am always looking to bring

down the noise level on LF/MF/HF.  I enjoy the

challenge.

There are lots of great SWL web sites, but I

post things about receiving on here in hopes

that someone mught get interested in receiving -

perhaps a person who has never thought about it before.

I also feel a loyalty to Part 15.Us - so I post threads about

DXing here.

Even though SWBC stations continue to

go dark all over the world - there is still a lot to hear -

but you need a really good receiving set-up.  A lot

of very interesting transmissions are down in the noise.

Back to the SS-Tran 3000 on batteries - I will be asking

for opinions on that Part 15 transmitter question.

It reminds of the days of vacuum tube portable radios

using - say - a 90 volt battery for the plates and a 1 1/2

volt battery for the filaments.

Very best wishes,

Brooce
