Nice this is a great tool for finding a blank AM frequency.

I am curious why 1610KHz is missing from the day and night patterns, is that a band guard channel or something? I see 1600KHz then it jumps to 1620KHz.

Bruce.

The US uses 1610 exclusively for TIS use. Canada has only one station on 1610, Mexico has none. That is the likely reason.

There is a station on 1680 which is in Gloucester, VA on 1680 that is a TIS station.  Pretty cool that I actually was able to hear one in operation finally.  I've thought I've heard music at night on 1610 I'm not sure I'll check and see what I hear on that frequency tonight.  BTW the noise level is not as bad in Gloucester, VA as it was Downtown Elizabeth City, NC on AM.  I'm waiting to see how my noise level tests go for Deltaville, VA.  It may be great on AM and I could land some listeners down there.

I've heard music on 1610 before as well, I've always assumed it was CHHA out of Toronto.

I checked this against my knowledge of some local stations and it seems accurate though I can usually hear stations about 50% farther than their contour.

Unfortunately, no data base I know of is useful for predicting nighttime reception on locally unused frequencies. Some nights distant X band stations are booming in here and other nights none are heard.

Yeah I was surprised to see this as the propagation varies from night to night. I think the real value for the night plots is to indicate how greatly the paths increase at night.
