Have uses for the "vacuum" been fully explored?

Have uses for the "vacuum" been fully explored?

Survivors from the early days remember vacuum tubes with fondness. Those tubes truly matched the fairy tale description of a magic bulb, with their glow and mysterious launch of signals across space from the cathode to plate.

The computer era brought "vacuum rooms", which I think referred to rooms with special air pressure to eliminate dust which was lethal to the ancient equipment. This was accomplished by attaching modified vacuum cleaners to the duct work.

Astronauts actually enter the vacuum of space which is distinguished by having no up or down. In space antennas are neither vertical nor horizontal.

What lies ahead for the vacuum?

Well, we named our Airdale Terrier (sp?)
rescue dog: Hoover. After the Hoover
vacuum cleaner brand.

From the day we brought him home he was
a vacuum cleaner dog, and he still lives
up to the name.

He's 8 years old now and is still doing great.

I never thought I could love a dog so much!

Bruce, DRS2

P.S. Carl, I think I've told you about Hoover
before, but maybe not some other people on here.
That's one of the reasons why my Part 15 station
is called DOG RADIO.
