There is also a 1/2 watt Tube Am Transmitter for $24 elsewhere
That model of Talking House transmitter does not include the patented auto-tuner like the VCR looking units have, which makes a pretty big difference in ease of use, but if you know that going in it might be fun.

That particular model Talking House has a digital frequency readout, but it's not digital PLL tuning. A friend bought one and was less than happy with it as the frequency tends to drift a bit.
