Well - another year (2011) has gone by and

I really want to thank everybody who runs
this site!

I mean it.

You guys who have worked to make this thing run -
and the kind people who have talked to me on here
from the beginning.

This site has helped me with more than just radio - it
has made my life better and I'm not kidding.

Very very best to you guys!

Bruce MICRO Dog 2 makes a very important tribute. INDEED the makers and keepers of PART15.US are to be credited with putting a very fine website with the most special mission - LEGAL LOW POWER RADIO.

ANOTHER thing needs mention, and that is the people who make this website what it is. Of those, I would say that MICRO DOG is one of the main guys. Bruce has the very best qualities of a full human being and he shares those qualities with us in the most charming way.

From reading everyone's responses to BRUCE DOG I see that everyone cares and wants to help with the eye sight. Everyone responds to his many radio interests, from DXing the many radio bands to various forms of transmission and theorizing about new concepts.

Bruce is a man who remembers to thank the hosts and the guests.

A total person.

Part15.us is the most well rounded forum, with the best and the most active posters. Members include the most seasoned and experienced, who know and love their hobby and always holds true and know how to make the most of the FCC facts.
The most inexperienced, aka: newbies, are welcomed with answers to most of their questions, and suggestions towards improving their broadcasting situation.
Part15.us is the Most.
And I too am thankful for it.

All the best to Micro Dog, and to all the rest of you guys too.

i have dropped out of all other forums related to part 15 except for p15us and ramsey but p15us gets more traffic than ramsey. but the moderation and people on both forums are better than the other community radio forums. this forum got way better when a certain individual got their walking papers (banned) by admins. the individual still plagues ramsey but i believe they may be on borrowed time there as well.

I joined just after the banning took place, so I have never seen any of the blogs written by the ex-member. It's the kind of subject that is never fully described because it is safest not to write negative reports in a public forum regarding individuals.

So please don't tell the story of what happened, I'm just mentioning that it has remained as kind of a "legend."

the individuals rants are everywhere. a simple search for part 15 am ground lead enforcement or part 15 fm will turn up a slew of the persons rants (which imo speak for themselves) on here, ramsey, radio-info, and many other forums.

I have found this forum to be less..umm..."stuffy"...less dull and less foot pounding to ideas and experimentation.

Not to open up any can of worms, there have been a few other members who have backed off from this forum and now gather around those others that were mentioned earlier.

Again not to create issues but I cannot help but mention that this forum is NOW less "stuffy" and less dull since those certain few have drifted off the center frequency of Part15.us.

Around here it feels like relaxing in my own living room enjoying a nice cup of hot apple cider with the fire going and roasting marshmallows.

The other places...like walking on egg shells and rice paper.

I know that this website started sometime after
the Medium Wave Alliance ended. But I don't
know how this site got started. I also don't
know when.

The people that I think are/were involved(?)

I don't want to embarrass anybody - I just wanted
to say the operators and moderators of this site
really deserve the thanks.

That's sort of a round about way of saying - I think
I know who you guys are - and if I could I would thank
you personally. I know that you guys are extremely gifted
intellectually, probably very busy and very modest.

You keep it going. You check it. You protect it. And if it goes down you
bring it back up. And then you come forward and explain
areas of electronics that - well - I have never known about, anyway.

I have learned more about radio and electronics here, than
41 years of ham radio. I'm not saying that ham radio is
bad or inferior or anything like that. And that's just the
way it worked out for me - with other people it will be
different. But when you are doing all you can to make the
best Part 15 RF installation you can, and then you get into
making a good audio chain to feed it - well - you) learn a
great deal. (And I still love ham radio, by the way.)

Anyhow - what can I say? I think I finally verbalized what I
was thinking.

Thank you again.

Bruce, DOGRADIO STUDIO 2

P.S. And to Carl - thank you for what you said. that was really nice!

Well, as far as I can tell, this site has been up for
almost 8 years! Wow!

And just as a historical note, I THINK that somewhere
around that time the Medium Wave Alliance went down.

Great Stuff!

alot of the techie heads have disappeared from broadcast and ham radio and have been replaced by appliance operators who barely know how to turn the radio on much less how it works. they just memorized enough questions to pass the tech test. i haven't bothered to get on ham radio in a while. everytime i try to get into a tech discussion on part 15, qrp or anything that requires building your own equipment they seem to get very quiet on the repeaters.

Well, KC8GPD, then we are the lucky ones then because the
fun stuff is here!

And there are still plenty of good blogs out there on
different things. I have a friend who is very active
in a great regenerative receiver blog. There are a lot
of guys on there.

Best Wishes,
Bruce, DOGRADIO STUDIO 2

8 years of part15us.. wow is right! I was surprised to have found one of my own post here from 6 years 40 weeks ago - all of my other post have been in the last year.

I'm one of those appliance operators, minus a tech test.. never built any kits, aim for turn-key operations, and have minimal knowledge to provide others - That leaves me lacking in my contribution to this site... But still think I've provided worthy interactions here during the quest for part15 successes.

As for the nameless entity that know one wants to talk about as they talk about him.. Has anyone else had a pondering suspicion that he's actually somehow stealthily employed by the FCC? making his presence on these forums is an intentional placement?
But I'm not talking about him, but if I were; what I just said is what I would be asking.
🙂

Your idea of a "plant" or spy placed here to prod us is an interesting one.

It's all possible, since the bloated gov needs to give all those surplus people something to do, so why not messing with low power people to find out if maybe we are sending tiny signals to Russian neighbors at the stroke of midnight.
