I tried setting my Talking House transmitter to 530 last night, which should be in the frequency of the coverage of it and it tunes up just fine and says it's on 530 but when I tune to 530 on multiple radios it's dead air on 530, I tuned up the dial and it was on 640 and wouldn't go on any other frequency lower but covers all the frequencies above that just fine. Is this a normal issue for this transmitter?
Sometimes but not very often the gears in the tuning mechanism will hang up or jump out of alignment. When that happens, the twin ferrite coils tend to be placed out of sync.
What used to be the position for 530 has been replaced by 640, the twin coils are no longer tracking with the tuning section of the transmitter. One coil handles the upper end of the band and the other coil is the lower end of the band.
To fix this, you would have to tune transmitter up to 1700 khz, unplug it and open the cover, check the gears and the screws holding the tuning mechanism to be sure everything is tight.
If you have some graphite grease, place a small amount around the gears, close up the cabinent and plug in the Talking house and try to tune for 530 khz.
This might solve your problem.

Another trick is to tune it up with the antenna switch placed in the External Antenna position. See if it will tune to 530, unplug the talking house, place the switch to Internal Antenna and plug the transmitter in, let it tune up and see if it transmits on 530 khz.
Let me know something either way and if you still don't have any luck, we can try something else.

Alrighty, I just tried the antenna switch trick and it didn't go lower than 640 still when I did. I'll try opening it now to check the gears.
