Major disappointment. Shipping and processing took too long. Not as advertised. Same crappy audio as older versions including the Illinois address. Scam or mistake? I paid the 249. Tried to contact Mr. Bill for his opinion but his email is suddenly secret. Sorry Neil but it is what it is. I have pictures. Contacting IAm tomorrow.
You must be disappointed and probably a bit peeved about this. How this plays out can be good information for others given the apparent popularity of the TH.
It will be good if you can reach "Mr. Bill" and use him as a resource. Also, if Station8 sees this he might have some input since he is very familiar with the TH.

I talk to him a lot and right now he is really busy helping a disabled person. But when he is not so busy I am sure he will comment. He has told me that the Advanced TH 5.0 was suppose to have some audio improvements and the iAM and the advanced 5.0 was supposed to have an up rev to make it what or as close to the iAM as possible. But like I told Station 8 mine says TH 5.0 and has green numbers not blue ones. That in mind he says it was made better than the original TH 5.0 as far as audio upgrades. But again the best thing to do is see if he'll comment soon so we can get a more technical explanation of the differences.

There is a Talking House 5.0 Am Tx.
There Is a I.A.M. Am Tx.
The only difference between the two is.
Talking House Ver. 5.0 Am Tx Has audio modification / revision.
I.A.M Am Tx Has 15 Modification / Revision to the unit.
These two unit use the same mother board and display board, But are Modified / revised.
I have both of these unit and have taken both apart cleaned and repaired took pictures of.

and i will tell you everything i know about the two units and what i found.

Neil, my comment was based on the experience of wdcx, which experience others might want to consider when deciding what transmitter to buy.
The "caveat emptor" was/is intended for possible future buyers, not wdcx.
Spoke with Katie who was very helpful. I told her what the situation was and she said she would investigate. This is what I received via her email:

Understood. I responded because it appeared you had directed this at WCDX which would not be helpful after the fact and also because I thought it was pulling the thread off topic (which with this comment is still happening).
But I post again to point out that with John sharing his information and with Station8's input we can now have an advantage of having information for this transmitter for others to consider as you suggested. Thanks to both of them for posting.

Hi John: I have worked with katie before very nice lady and very helpful.
Sorry you had some issue, But that can be normal sometimes a slipup.
As audio issue sounding bad john i found when i made a better antenna the audio quality got even better and i had to look at rf getting into my equipments and lines,Also outside electrical interference and other noises and also the power supply was not helping with the dc hum causing issues,So i rebuilt my power supply and i built a better filter for the original power supply and it helped.
When i ran the original wire ant i had to turn the bass down ( off ) on the radio, But when i built my copper ant i had to increase the bass more do to you could hear the highs better.
And that was with the Talking House ver 5.0 am tx
I hope you can make meeting this saturday john because i can tell you allot about the two units when i took both of mine apart and found big difference between the Talking house 5.0 and i.A.M tx

Just so you know john i deal with allot of interference and noise hear and i can still get my Talking house am tx sound really good hear.
