I will be taking a break from Part 15 radio (and the ALPB) until the early summer.
I'm in the process of moving to Calgary, Alberta, and have to get rid of a huge amount of stuff that's currently in storage (essentially, all the electronics that I've collected over the past 30+ years). Add into that equation the actual process of moving, finding a place, etc. and I don't forsee much free time until June. I will keep up the Artisan Radio internet stream as it currently is during that period (at least, for the most part, until I have to disconnect it), and I also hope to keep up on this Forum.
I will be offering my excess Part 15 gear (mostly transmitters) here at severely discounted prices first before selling them anywhere else.
Once I've moved (back into a house again - attempting Part 15 broadcasting in a concrete apartment building is next to impossible, particularly on AM), I plan on doing a big push on the station (I've got lots of ideas, just no time right now).

Artisan Radio
Get settled in your new position, Artisan, then return as the important player you are in the Part 15 Game, the exclusive club of legal low power radio people here at part15,us and over at the ALPB.
All the best in your move.
We all like you, and we know
you'll be OK.

Wish you luck with your move. Hope it all goes OK. Enjoy reading your posts here at part 15 forum and you've been helpful to me a few times.
I will watch for your sales of your stuff for anything of interest, although some you should keep for when you are up and running again(Decade transmitter, etc.)
Guess when you move from the west coast(Vancouver&Vancouver island..Victoria area) you will have to live with "real" winters again!
I'm trying to figure out how to move from Toronto to Victoria for much better weather and still be in Canada.
Hope all goes well
Mark
Apartment buildings are ideally suited to carrier-current broadcasting. Of course that would entail investment in different equipment (higher powered transmitter plus coupler), so probably not an option for your specific situation. Does Canada allow Carrier-Current (possibly by some other name) unlicensed operation?
with your upcoming move, David. I've been here 24 years and would dread having to move all our stuff.
That's why I'm getting rid of most of it. My electronics collection will actually be sold via Able Auctions here in Vancouver, but they will also be advertising it online. While there will be little Part 15 stuff, anyone interested in vintage (and some not so vintage) amateur radio gear should check it out in about a month or so.
I actually expect to be quite mobile in the years to come, so I'm just keeping the bare essentials (including some Part 15 gear, of course).
As for carrier current in Canada, I really don't know. That's something that's never really interested me. Our unlicensed broadcasting rules are spread out in multiple places, so it's not all that easy to find out specific information (unlike the U.S., where it's all in Part 15). Here, it's RSS-210, BETS-1,5&6 and probably others. There are also multiple government agencies involved, including Industry Canada and the CRTC (Industry Canada for the technical requirements, CRTC for content).
