Opinion from Here.

Sweden and Europe in general tend to have better reasonable common sense than we have here in "The New World" where we're pushed and pulled by special interests.

Let's list some special interests -

Corporate profit;

Military advantage;

Fundamental Christian ignorance lobby;

Political propaganda.

Unfortunately for us the values of "public interest, convenience and necessity" is a propaganda slogan like "natural organic health".

Carl,

With regards to the UK, Dab has been a bit of a joke in the way in how it has been used and compromised.

The government has recently had to abandon it's analogue switchoff by 2015 deadline, and this deadline has happened before.

Due to dab being 80's tech, and because of limited vhf high band bandwidth allocation, bit rates have been reduced numerous times, over the years, to accomodate more stations, so any definition of "hi-fi" sound has gone.

Considering DAB was touted as "CD quality Audio", then downgraded to "Near CD Quality", then as more bitrate reduction happened, it was then re launched as "Digital Audio Quality".

Hi fi enthusiasts that listen to BBC Radio 3 have ditched their DAB tuners, and reverted back to the FM analogue tuners.

Paul.

BOARDMAKER understands and you just get to wondering sometimes...

Analog does the job simply and efficiently, there have been no complaints about it, so the money greeders come up with a proprietary coded complex scheme to get more cash out of the public, but snake oil doesn't digitize very well and nobody buys one.

Politicians get get sort of swished around changing the rules because they can't grasp basic physics.

Swish twice and spit.
