The spec an he is getting will be a great addition to work along side his FIM. The spec an has the sensitivity, the resolution AND most important, the frequency range to work with Part 15 installations.
It will also be very useful in building low pass filters and LC tank circuits.
For the price and features and warranty, and for the purposes it will be used for, it's a must have.
