I have 2 webcams should I run one from time to time in the studio?? I do not do much with my station it just running automated I use my main computer there is a lot of other stuff in the room with both computers.
I guess the question I have is, if it's radio, why do a webcam? I'm too ugly for tv which is why I like radio.
I've thought about that enough to start the planning to put a camcorder hooked up to a video card in the studio - I recently picked up a digital Sony camcorder at a vintage store.
A stream isn't radio in the traditional sense. So I don't see an issue with adding video to, say, a live radio show that is being broadcast over-the-air, as well as streamed. Video of an automated station might be pretty boring, however.
Simply because I love to be heaped with technology it would be fun to have at least one webcam showing something.
I personally do not want to be on camera and I believe radio personalities should be heard and not seen, unless they want to be seen... maybe.
Other live action that I have available is a birdfeeder with plenty of nibblers, perhaps an N-scale model railroad.
Picture of the street, the trees, a turntable turning, shadows... ya, we could have a shadow theater... a shadow of the DJ projected on the wall.
If you have a storefront, the webcam could show people walking up, pointing fingers and laughing at you! Doesn't necessarily have to be of the DJ.

Is that bad?
If you became the town's jokester maybe it would lead to civic pride and they might want to fund you if you attracted enough scoffers.
Might even get in National Geographic Magazine as a throw-back to wild men displayed in cages at world's fair exhibits.
"The town with a living speciman of a DJ".
I have loved radio since I was a small lad and have always considered myself a radio child
So now when webcams came out I did the best thing a radio child could do use a wireless one like boom sky and web stream the sky live all day

Never thought of showing the sky.
We always look up at the sky but RadioHAM is the first person we know to show the sky on video.
That is a very clever idea.
Maybe DJboutit, the beginner of this thread, will pick up on the idea?
I am sure folks would rather look at the sun directly than stare at me anyway
;P
