About 10 years ago I was complaining on my morning show that there were no great Thanksgiving songs like there are Christmas songs -- something secular and catchy. Thanksgiving pretty much just has a couple hymns and Alices Restaurant.
My son heard me complaining and said "I'll write one for you" and an hour later the song linked below was recorded and ready for air. He wrote it, his drummer friend came over and added brushes on a snare, and I played bass, and this song was born.
For made in a home studio in an hour, it's not bad. I play it every year on the air. I was getting it ready for my show this morning and thought.. "Hey, I should share this". My song is playing a hollowbody Gretch electric on this, BTW. Oh, and he's 17 years old at this time.
Even if you're not licensed for music, you don't need to be for this one, as it's original and completely cleared for anyone to freely use.
Technically the artist is "Ryan and the Del-Rays".
