Howdy folks,
Howdy folks,
Well, I just finished taping an interview with King Fitch, retiring Friday Harbor town administrator for 25 years commenting on his tenure in office, hosted by San Juan Journal writer Steve Wehrly.
Except for a bit of echo flutter from the walls in the Town Council Chamber, it went perfect, couldn't have asked for better. Mr. Fitch has never done a radio interview before, but you'd swear he has. Each of his answers to Steve's questions has a beginning and an end, making very little if any editing necessary.
Overall, it sounds just the tiniest bit stilted, but nothing that hurt the session.
I still have to get release forms signed and copied, but there should be an un-advertised airing this evening on FHTR, planned for 6:30pm PDT, with a more formal airing next weak, after consent from KSJU 91.9 FM and Rip Robbins, Media Administrator for Skagit Valley College.
Really first time stuff here in Friday Harbor.
What you are doing is the very best that Part 15 can accomplish. I am happy you shared the story with us, Ken Norris, and I suggest you consider a section in your consent forms dealing with possible posting of the sound files for use by other stations.
I often listen to part 15 station KPAH in Pahrump, Nevada, because they have several weekly shows done by and about town officials.
When public events are well recorded I carry them on KDX, the exceptions being those that are done with amateur sound quality.
Also, since your town administrator is retiring, the recording will become a keepsake within his family.
I agree with Carl.
Ken, you are doing probably the
best job that Part 15 can do.
And since I got my head out of
my armpit (and that's very hard
to do) I have been listening to
your station again.
I still feel bad that my mind got
so messed up and I thought you
were off the air. Oh well, I guess
that's life.
Ken, do you remember our phone conversation
a year of two ago? That was fun!
Best Wishes,
Bruce, DOGGRADIO STUDIO 2
