Listening to the Thom Hartman Show at KDX AM 1680 he took a phone call from a listener watching on YouTube.
I didn't know that.
Live radio programs streaming on YouTube?
We know that MRAM streams WCFI LP on UStream, but do any of us feed programs on YouTube?
What a nice bit to include in our upcoming ALPB Mini Seminar On Radio Streaming!
Being a technophile, that is a person who gets off on technology, the idea of studio cams holds some interest.
A fixed position camera is common because it's the easiest thing to do, but I'm thinking there should be a robotic system not unlike a model railroad track system that would enable the camera to move around the room and vary it's own zoom range of focus.
There probably should be a manual override so that the DJ could set up a particular POV.
Other cameras could be brought in at times maybe from the bird bath, wide street view, tower adoration.
By about this time in the dream it's time for a nap.
Actually, the Cleveland Ohio TV stations use remote control cameras. The guy on the board can move the cameras, pan/tilt and zoom also. Camera operators not needed at the camera anymore.
Even the live truck my son works has a robo cam, smaller version, they use on football games.
WYMT TV and I suspect their parent station WKYT TV use Robocams.
In the image i included here you can see one of these cams.
Really cool.
