I found about 300-400 ft. of surplus 14 awg solid neutral wire (the white neutral wire in your outlets) for $5 at the local recycle center. My question is this: Assuming the RF ground is properly staked in and bonded, will the vinyl jacket have any significant effect on using the wire for ground radials?
Wish I had a better answer, but I THINK I heard SOMEWHERE that using insulated wire in a grounding situation is just as good as bare wire, with the advantage that the wire will not deteriorate so quickly from exposure to the ground.

You are correct. However, every commericial AM transmitter site I have seen uses bare copper. The local AM here in Dead City uses tons of copper flashing about 6 inches wide rolled out in every possible direction. This was used to replace a 50 year old non-existant ground radial system. So I wonder if bare copper is better in the MF frequencies whereas insulated works just fine at HF.
