Howdy,
Howdy,
I'd like to get a good rack mount AM receiver, dedicated if possible, to which I can connect and test various receiver antenna designs. I can't seem find such an animal other than this Pyle:

What say?
TIA,
Ken N.
Just before the conversion to everything digital Technics by Panasonic made some dream perfect rack mountable tuners. I have the ST-9030 FM which still works rock solid. There was also a TV Audio Rack Mount Tuner which I wish I'd purchased, and I am reasonably sure there was an AM rack mount.
If I can dig up old information I'll add it to this thread.
Thanks Carl
i beleive meduci will make a custom rack mount am stereo tuner with balanced or unbalanced outputs for a decent price. http://meduci.com/
AFAIK there are no stereo AM or even HD AM stations in listening range here. I'm looking for a good AM receiver to monitor and test my own signals which is Part 15 gear, of course. And I wouldn't mind doing some DX listening on AM, but I don't have any time for it right now.
well it receives mono just as well as stereo. just like fm, am will receive mono on a stereo receiver.
How about a Rolls RS80?

Or even better.
If you have 12V dc.. get a cheap car stereo and build a rack mount for it...
Bingo! cheap monitor radio!
