I picked up some pulsing in SSB mode on 13.56MHz (and up and down this frequency range) that almost sounds like an RFID pulse. I recognize the sound as I hear it on my AM radio when I drive by the badge reader at the work parking garage.
I thought it was a bit strange as I am in a semi-rural area with no such equipment for miles.
Is it common for these things to belch out tons of junk on this band?

This is the Industrial, Scientific, Medical band where unlicensed operation of devices is allowed. Some devices can produce many watts of power output. The noise could be from such a device.
