what do you have how to do to download those public service announcements? I'd like to use those how to do to download those public service announcements? I'd like to use those on my station. what is the ad consoles what is the ad consoles website?
And remember: You saw it first on HB.
Since links over there aren't made available to the general public, most people will actually see it here first. ๐
As a longtime member of the NAB this is nothing new to me ๐
If you're searching for PSA's, here's a tip or two.
Virtually every organization has their own web site with PSA's available. Type in "National Kidney Foundation PSA's" into Google, etc and you'll get to PSA's on their own site, same for hundreds of non-profit organizations. I always try to find PSA's specific to my state or area, too. Most organizations have a state office, and may very well have PSA's targeted to your area. Don't forget your won state and government organizations. e.g. here in northern Minnesota the outdoors are probably the number one activity -- fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, etc..etc.. I just go to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources web site and download fresh PSA's for each season each year. Same for your local Highway Patrol for safe driving PSA's from folks in your own state, etc. A little creative searching and an hours time will net you a ton of great PSA's perfectly targeted for your audience and area.

My last comment was made with tongue firmly in cheek. There is no ownership attached to any Internet links, particularly PSA's, which are meant to be seen by everyone.
I haven't been able to find any central repository of PSA's in Canada, but each non profit appears to have them somewhere on their website available for download.
Here is another interesting link - PSA's gathered from Old Time Radio programs, found at Archive.org. https://archive.org/details/Old_Radio_Public_Service_Announcements
the links are not even available to members over there till they reach an arbitrary participiation number that differs from user to user determined by Mr. D and his webturns.
These links are freely available from many sources, and easy enough to find on your own anyways.
As Neal stated, it's his house, his rules. There's nothng stopping people from coming here to a completely open Forum, one that actually wants to disseminate knowledge to anyone who desires it, while at the same time encouraging discussion and creativity.
When it comes to PSA's I focus on local PSA's. The few agency produced PSA's that I run come from Minnesota groups, with very few exceptions.
I produce my own PSA's, gleaned from the community bulletin board at city hall and the library. We recently had a spay/neuter clinic for dogs and cats for low income pet owners. Came right into town in a huge mobile vet clinic. We have free music programs at the library. Free band concerts at the gazebo, potluck suppers to raise money for people with health emergencies, churches have bake sales, rummage sales, etc. The city puts out notices about yard waste and brush pickup, hydrant flushhing that may discolor your water, parking notices, etc. THESE are the kind of PSA's that actually MEAN something to my audience. I run the state and national stuff if it's particularly entertaining, and of course the state stuff that applies to my listeners, like the DNR PSA's, as we're right in the middle of fishing, boating, hunting, territory. So it's appropriate.
As nice as it is to use the produced PSA's from the big organizations for their professional sound, it's best, I think, for small local radio to focus on VERY local PSA's. It's a bit more work, but anything that's worthwhile usually is. I can often get the librarian or city clerk to record their own announcements (I carry one of those Tascam digital recorders with me when I stop in to check on new announcements) e.g. City Hall sponsors "Tea on Tuesdays" the second Tuesday of every month. Stop in in the morning for tea, coffee, cookies, etc chat with your neighbors, etc. I get the city clerk to read the announcements, then people stop in and tell her they heard her on the radio. Makes the station more interesting and community involved, and generates more talk among the locals. Win-win!

but i take exception to his minions coming over here hurling accusations at us on our own forum is all.
I thought we were all in this to help each other out.
If some want to subvert that goal by claiming ownership of publicly available information, limiting access to it, and others are willing to go along with it, that's entirely up to them. It's sad more than anything else, and certainly not worth worrying about.
It won't happen on this Forum, where everyone (incuding minions ๐ ) has a voice.
I had totally forgotten about this PSA site. I wonder if my account is still active...
