I've seen other posts here for individuals offering voice-overs and nobody complained.

Who said this outfit was going to sale you "Clear Channel" crap. I would assume your script would reflect your own station personality, not Clear Channel.

For those without radio voices, it doesn't sound like a bad deal. A little pricey for a spend-thrift like me but I'm sure that vocally challenged individuals would go for it.

If the Group Moderator finds this offer to be SPAM then so be it.

I think this description from his post pretty much spells it out as clear crap...

Maybe if this outfit tones it down a little for you, you'd have a very nice collection of announcements for those oppressed, country music listeners of yours.

I tend to have a problem when someone comes pushing a corp sales pitch on little guys, and then ties in Clear Channel with it, just not good...
I have a good radio voice, was in commercial radio for 10 yrs before getting into part15 broadcasting. Dont need to pay for something I dont need. Oppressed, maybe that word shouldnt be in my station description, just leave it as underserved etc etc.

Well, I think I understand where you're coming from. Maybe like you, this guy is trying to make amends by leaving the corp rat race and helping the other side. I wouldn't fault the guy just because he did work for Clear Channel. Although, I didn't like the high-pressure sale ends April 30th note.

There were a lot of German Soldiers in WWII working for Hitler and I'm sure most of them were probably just regular guys. They were just doin' their job, tryin' to get by. I didn't like their employer but they were good at what they did.

Hey, since you announced professionally, maybe you could undercut this guys price and help everybody that needs it. That's free enterprize!

I dont have a problem with this guy - plus, the price was VERY reasonable.

I have worked and played as a radio and television broadcaster for over 40 years. In that time a lot has changed, and not just broadcasting. Peoples tastes, the availability of entertainment, the speed of nearly everything in life and of course, technology.

I remember playing all of the music aired on my station were 45 rpm vinyl disks. We called them records. All the jingles, ads and promos were on new fangled tape cartridges. A lot of the commercials were read live on the air, mistakes and all. In 1965, that was progress. Today, the music's on hard drive, along with everything else. Personal computers allow us to walk away from the controls, sometimes for days. With the success of on demand internet music, the inclusion of radio personalities in broadcasts is nearly extinct.

Some of the comments, on this forum topic, make me believe some folks may not understand where we, as broadcasters, have been. I make no judgement about the process or the end product. I only mention this because of the apparent attitudes of some. By the tone and language used, there is a suggestion that we should return to yesteryear (re: the Lone Ranger). Just like some folks try to convince us they are proud to be poor, some people find it appealing to not embrace progress of any sort. They identify themselves as the antithesis of success. They prefer to identify with some perceived image of how it used to be (and darned proud of it). I call it "reverse snobbery". And before you decide to get jerked out of shape about the preceding comment, take a moment to think how others will understand and digest your opinion. Trained broadcasters are taught from the first day, taking the listener/reader/consumer into consideration is first and foremost. When does professionalism begin and end?

And finally, just because a person has worked for or is currently employed by or under contract with a particular concern does not necessarily clearly identify their character. No more, than your inflamatory comments on this forum should be considered the entire scope of your character. Lets agree that we all want to be better at what we enjoy; broadcasting. And how ever you interpret that will determine your individual path to success or failure. I wish you success.

Harsh. You may not like what's offered up here, but "this wasn't a very smart thing to post here" has the ring of a threat. You're welcome to your opinion, but not everyone on here would object to this post. Some people might want a "pro" sound for their station, whether you like it or not. Chill out.

Guys-

Sorry if the ad came off as a plea to make your stations sound like the corporate full power stations. Not our intention. Our work for the big guys has never changed my desire to work for smaller stations. In fact, just in the past month, I sold a small AM station I owned in Fair Bluff, NC (salute!) and know what it's like to program a station that can only reach a few thousand people. Obviously, I didn't do it for the money. I did it to feed the radio monster inside me that has this never ending need to get as close to the medium as I can!

My company normally charges a rate of $300+ per month on a one year contract to deliver our signature radio IDs to the big guys. At the end of the contract, if they do not renew, everything on the station that came from us has to be immediately removed from air. The reference to CC in the ad was only to reference that we have become pretty well respected in the station ID voiceover field by many people who are in the game. We have also done work for Entercom, Cumulus and many others. Every month, we do work for many standalone AM stations as well. If you're in radio, we want to make you sound good. No matter wheher your station covers a few blocks or the entire state of New York.

This was simply an announcement of a special price that we feel many small stations can live with. A one time investment of $200 gets you one page of IDs- fully produced- that you can use forever more. As long as the IDs are used on a part 15 station only, we will never come back looking for license fees- or ask you to remove the IDs.

The reaction has been great so far. We are test marketing until the end of the month. We'd love to record a page for you as well- believe me, you'll get the same attitude and production attention as the biggest of the big guys who pay very large retainers. Radio is radio- and we want it all to sound great.
