I just found this https://flippa.com/2704996-broadcast-radio-community-website
This website is the social website of choice for many micro broadcasters. The present ownership has been a tremendous landlord and will be greatly missed.
Don't let this website go away.
Well let's hope the site continues as it is no matter who owns it.
But it also should be a huge wake up slap in the face to everyone that the poor state of the union is indeed non-discriminatory in what it forces to close it's doors.
Even our little world of flea power radio is directly affected..as is everything else too.
Looking for a solution? Contact me and I will propose one that will not only keep this thing under the current ownership, but also keep it from being stripped down to something far less than what it is now.

i have always wanted to contribute money to
the site, but I don't have it. (At least not right
now.)
I hope it can stay running, but I do understand
that life is life and things happen.
But I really do hope that it stays running.

What will it take to keep it? I donate, but not as often or as much as I should, I suppose.
According to the auction listing it will take $3000 to buy the site. Revenue is $62/mo which pays for the hosting service, and yields a $40/mo profit.
Poster "madmage" seems to be the person responsible for the Drupal code. My impression is that he has spent countless hours working on it to create and improve the site and fight off hackers. The site has been stable now for quite a long time after some long ago successful hacker attacks.
I have been a long-time participant in Part15.us, and have seen it rise from humble beginnings to being the premier part 15 web forum. At this point, there is no real competition remaining.
What it will take is someone who is a dedicated part 15 believer with a ton of knowledge about website coding and maintenance. Perhaps a buyer could avoid the coding part by continuing to enlist support from madmage.
As an aside, I have always been a supporter of the old Usenet newsgroups, which have survived in Google and Yahoo Groups. That medium is not dependent on the comings and goings of web sites. But, not so many people are aware of the content of newsgroups these days. If Part15.us does not survive, all the the wonderful contributions stored in its database will disappear.
Someone needs to make a backup of the entire site. Messages library and blogs. If site should disappear than a mirror site can be put up. The site wouldn't be interactive anymore but the mirror could be searchable and existing knowledge base would remain intact as a reference. I fear if its sold that part 15 us might be no more
PhilB makes a worthwhile contribution by mentioning the Usenet usegroups where the social ingredient of low power radio is happening for "those in the know" for the low power radio subject. I will definitely check those out.
But, and this is merely a point of view and there may be more to it, I think a website offers two advantages to the Part 15 Cause that would be swallowed up in the vacuum of a "geeks" usegroup:
1) A public website stands a chance of attracting new recruits to the part 15 world;
2) A public website gives an advertising platform for part 15 products, such as those framing this message right now.
Usegroups are gravy, but a public website is the main coarse for the cultural existence of low power broadcasting.
I love how some like to make things sound more complex and complicated than they really are. Pfft.
You do not need to be any web code master or nuclear physicist to run this forum, or any other, or web site or host one.
If your going to speak for someone else's venture, perhaps first you should speak about YOUR stuff first before putting the foot in the mouth about something you barely get involved with as of late.
Everyone, do a google search with the keywords "domain appraisal", then enter this site's url into the appraisal entry box and sift through all the various results.
I can tell you now ain't no one going that high with a bid.
Sorry to say, but that's the reality of it. Been in this crap way too long, much longer than a majority here has been, even this site owners have..and it ain't gonna fly.
Like I said, I have a solution..seed is planted..either water it and let it grow, or let it die along with the site.
Nuff said. Nuff BS'ing around..nuff needlessly complicating of things.
Backup was made several weeks ago btw...again as I said...contact info is in the profile.
