As some of you may have noticed, but probably not, I have been offline for a very long time on this site.

Well the main reason is this site will NOT load on CableONE internet.

I can get it on my AT&T iphone which I'm using now, but if I went Wi-Fi via CableONE the site would never load.

Its been this way for nearly 2 years.

So, is CableONE blocking Part15.us, or is Part15.us blocking CableONE users?

Do you use a router on your PC?  Are you sure that it isn't your router that is blocking IP addresses?

Another question.  What browser are you using on your PC?  Have you tried different browsers?

You may need to use a VPN. Some ISP's have been over zealous about blocking p2p related sites and I've read where as they started blocking some Internet Radio sites. I've kept up with the file sharing initiative and organizations that are so against it that they wanted ISP's to block certain sites. Without doing an anti this that war when I try and explain that this is what you get when one organization wars with the public who will do what they need to do against an organization who won't change business models to deal with their woes as their customer base suggests. This leaves you as a customer to have to relyy on VPN's (Virtual Private Network). These are very popular among the file sharing community. There are some FREE VPN's like Hotspot Shield which does have ads in their free version. Just Download ublock and put that on Firefox or Google Chrome as an extension and your all set with FREE scrambled uncensored Internet. There is also BT Guard at $9/Month which does a great job scrambling your IP and unblocking censored sites. You'll also be able to access blocked Radio sites not allowable for the USA do to (You know who I”m not going to say it). VPN's also protect you if your in chat rooms like Yahoo where people can use booters to kick you off when your talking to singles. One gets jealous and sends packets to try and rule the room. Not so with a VPN they can't get your IP can't fudge up your computer and so its like a great firewall. What ever you do try the VPN and see if it helps. It certainly won't hurt you.

I can't get to any websites at work that have a .us address.  Not a problem here at home. At home I just switched from Centurylink DSL to SCI Broadband cable -- 6 times faster, less money, and .us works fine.  But soe providers do have weird rules for different things.  Call and ask 'em. The company that provides service at work us Paul Bunyan Communications.  When we first started with them at work I couldn't send email from work to home (I use d yahoo address). Yahoo blocked them because they didn't think a company called Paul Bunyan could possibly be real!  They fixed it in a few days.

Tim, it's probably the way your router is set up a work that's blocking those sites.  Unless ISP's operate differently in the U.S. than in Canada, I've never seen an ISP block an entire group of domain names (such as *.us).  Individual IP's - yes.

Currently, I have my router set up to block several sets of IP addresses that belong to warez hosting sites over in Europe - I was getting thousands of attempted connections on my Internet stream from them, and eventually I just blocked the entire lot.

I can tell you without a doubt its not a router setting here. It would do the same thing at home and work both using cableone internet. After I moved and couldn't get cableone anymore part15.us is accessible at home, work still a no go.

Now the title of the site will show up in the browse, but it won't load the page seemingly getting stuck loading "google.com" according to the loading bar. Using a VPN the site works fine.

In your opening post: "As some of you may have noticed, but probably not, I have been offline for a very long time on this site."

I have noticed that you were absent here, but it was good to see you once in awhile on other forums, showing you were still thinking radio.

I'm no help with internet problems... I don't believe it can possibly work even when it does. The internet seems like a skyscraper made out of playing cards.

I wonder of other customers complained about their sites not loading?  Good thing it is working for you now.  Let us know.  At least the VPN did serve you well.

Do you you Spybot Search and Destroy?  If so you may want to Download a host editor.  Reason being I've found that sometimes they block good sites.  Troy Downloading BlueLifeHosts editor its legally FREE and you'll have to Google it.  Now if you have AVG it will report a false positive because it Edits Your Hosts File.  What happens when you want to block a site you point the host to 127.0.0.1 (Your Local IP Address for your computer.  If you see the site in the file erase it and re save the hosts file.  Simple and I use it to block ads and sites that do cause harm.  Love using it.  If its not in there and its still blocked do try and make sure its not your Firewall software. Sometimes if it is not set right it causes all sorts of issues.

If it wasn't also not loading on mobile devices I'd lean on some rouge antivirus.

FWIW the PC runs Avast and Adblock pro. Its gotta either be CableOne or a wide ban on IP lists from Part15.us

The plot thickens as the site becomes available again.

The internet confuses me deeply.
