Well, how the heck did KENC do it?.. he had 4 transmitter locations didn't he?
Well, how the heck did KENC

Phonelines and Rangemasters!
"As far as the Barix equipment,I'm pretty sure they dont provide sync between two recievers either."
There is no reason for the signal to be out of sync, phase or time wise, any more than KENC's telcom wired signals were, at least not enough to make a difference. IOW, it's one signal received, converted to analog, and rebroadcast on the same FM (or AM) frequency using identical gear at each point.
The only possible caveat I can see so far is differences caused by mfr tolerance widths between identical components, which are very likely negligible, or if there are significantly different distances between individual stations.
A computer is a general purpose machine with lots of internal parts, whereas a Barix Exstreamer is a purpose-built design ... no hard drive, no extra software or complex OS, none of that. It's basically an audio-only D/A converter ... that's all it has to do .. make an analog audio signal from a digital audio source.
Therefore, if you feed 10 of them from a single digital audio source, the analog signals will all be the same as well. I suppose it would be a wise move to get all the Barix units sequentially from somewhere near the middle of the same MFR run. AAMOF, it wouldn't be a bad idea to do it with all the stations' components if possible.
When Neumann boxes up stereo mic pairs. i.e., mics for recording stereo, you get them in sequence, i.e. mic #54 and mic #55, so their reproduction qualities will be as close to identical as possible, even though each of them was tested before leaving the factory. One more example of why Neumann mics cost what they do.
Again, all these stations would be generally equidistant from the base station. At light speeds, clear LOS, and short distances (under 300' in the case of Part 15 FM TX'), they should all get the same signal sent from the base station, all in phase.
Ken,If you get it to work, call me. It is my experience that audio over ip will not arrive in phase nor in time, its why all cellphone repeater sites have given up trying to null the sidetone and have done away with it.
