Oompah Hour #124 is ready to go and offers more oompahs per minute than any other radio show! Ready to download at the usual link:
http://www.ironrangecountry.com/oompahhour.mp3
And the playlist for this week is below, of course!
And for the occasional plug: For those who don't know "The Oompah Hour" is an hour long (well, just under an hour) program featuring "old tyme" music, polkas, waltzes, etc all played off vintage phonograph records! Yup, vinyl rules on the Oompah Hour. A new show is uploaded each Sunday morning to the same link. Available to broadcast virtually anywhere music can be legally broadcast, commercial radio, college radio, LPFM, Part 15, webcasters, podcasters, whatever. Offering a mix of ethnic styles (polka fans know the difference between a Polish, German, Slovanian, etc.. polka.. in fact the long time fans can even tell you "Hey, that's Chicago style Polish" etc..)
If you carry the show let me know and I'll add you to the affiliate email list. I send one email a week and that's to confirm the new show is updated, and the email includes the week's playlist as well. Once in a GREAT while there may be some abberation in the update time and you'll receive a notice in advance. I think in over 2 years this has happened once, but just in case!
The show is recorded live, e.g. from the time the recorder starts till the time the theme song wraps up at the end, it's one continuous recording, so if a record skips, I screw up, the computer explodes, etc, it's all in the show. Very few radio shows are done this "old school" way. Most people either "build" their programs piece by piece, or edit out the screw ups. Not the Oompah Hour. It's all recorded live.
So, there's the pitch for the time being. Remember, it's FREE weekly programming. I've discovered that polka has a much larger following than you might expect.
