Anyone know what the next step up from part15 AM is? I was woundering if there are any special programs for colleges without having to get a licene, or a low cost licence. I'm looking for something around 1-5 watts.

Hi,
Yes there is a "step up". Part15 rules can be applied for on campus AM operation (not FM) which can allow for more power. Look up FCC rules part 15.221 b). This part will outline the technical requirements.
I know of no low power licenses for campus AM.
