Some world news stories grab my attention and I go looking for reliable sources of good audio feeds.
This happened with the Gulf Oil Spill and again with the recent unrest in nearby Ferguson, Missouri.
If I had the budget I'd set up a news bureau to specialize in certain stories.
Ferguson remains ongoing because there is no resolution to the police shooting that occured there, but most media has gone on to other business and it's harder to find good reports.
Then I struck pay-dirt, as this week I discovered a new online station that has become dedicated to covering the Ferguson story.
This radio station is physically located right near where I shop, and started as an indy-music station, but quickly re-tooled to cover the Ferguson scene.
It's only a few people working very hard to provide what they can, but some very telling stories have made it across.
It turns out there's another news service built upon the Ferguson story, but which seems to be a disinformation station, bent on planting false stories and discrediting peaceful actions.
To borrow Alex Jone's caption, there are Info Wars going on in Ferguson.
While the story is above and beyond what part 15 radio can handle, it is being sluffed off by main-stream radio/tv/print, who take their feeds from official news releases.
It's a bad time to be muzzled by part 15 rules.
