Well for all the guys in the know that I was bidding on a 5 watt transmitter on TradeMe, I lost the war, with the other guy deciding he wanted the transmitter more than me. I stopped bidding at $750.00. Never mind another will come up sometime.
If it went like auctions I bid on, the price only goes higher when I bid. Otherwise, someone else wins for next to nothing.
The first time I ever bid on eBay was for a carrier current coupler, and I won!
But the 2nd time I bid on an LPB2-20 I was 15-minutes late for the deadline, so missed the chance for a final bid.
The 3rd time was a LPB AM 25 and coupler, but I limited my bidding to $300 and someone went $5 higher.
The trick to eBay is to do what everybody else seems to do: Just watch an item, and don't even think of bidding until the last five minutes, and better yet the last minute or less.
I just scored a Radio Systems TR-20 with CP-15 coupler and CN-4 console for only $129.
It looks a bit rough in the photos - will probably need some TLC to get it up and running, but I'm a tech type and willing to take my chances on a bargain deal like that, and at that price for the whole shebang I can afford to spend a little time and even money fixing it up.
I'll admit it - I'm an Ebay Snipe - putting in a bid at the last possible second.
Sometimes I win -Sometimes I don't.
