This station uses the Rangemaster transmitter and features a fully-functional studio complete with a reel-to-reel, turntables,
cart machines, cassette decks, a CD burner and ZaraRadio automation
for those walk-away times.
The variety format features Gold-based AC, soft oldies, Billboard Top hits
from 1954 until the late 80s, and cross-country. There's a classic contemporary Christian music show on Sunday mornings featuring CCM from the late 70s, 80s and 90s. I hope to add a satellite receiver for USA Radio Network News out of Dallas for a "full service" sound but am out of funds for the time being so I guess that will happen later.
The Musicbox website is up at http://www.musicbox1610.com
Also, for the fans of my old WJJD classic country station..it's not dead!
It's streaming 24/7 on the internet and has its own website at
http://www.wjjd1160country.com
I appreciate the emails and support from the Part 15 community!
For those that don't know, I am legally blind..so building these stations from the ground up has been quite a challenge. I'm glad that as of tonight, September 18, '07, 1610's on the air locally and 'JJD is going all over the world.
Thanks!!
Congratulations on the new station. One suggestion on your news. I use QNN it is FREE as long as you leave their commercial in place. They have a 5 minute news broadcast each hour and a talk show which I do not use but you may also like to check it out. No equipment is need to get the file. I use juice to capture the file and put it in the correct folder and schedule Zara to play it. Works great for me.
