As part of a planned move, all operations at MRAM 1500 will cease for a few hours while the station is moved to its new location.
Also note The ALPB TeamSpeak server will be offline during this move. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause as the server is used for other purposes too.
I hope to have all basic funtions back online today.
Been watching for news from the new MRAM facility... looks like it's taking longer than expected, but with MRAM Bob on the job it will go together like a space mission.
Also wonder if MRAM 1500 on the dial ever hears KSTP 1500, Minneapollis-St. Paul on your frequency?
The new room is ready. The benches built. The computers moved and connected to the network. TeamSpeak is up. MRAM 1500 is streaming both the AM programming and NOAA WX.
I still have to decide where the carrier current transmitter will reside. It will be off air for a day or so until that is resolved.
The FM yardcaster will move off of the old laptop and onto a new-old PC picked up from a friend in need of a few bucks.
As for the frequency 1500 kHz, the Washington DC station, WTOP I think, and a Chicago station are sometimes heard. The DC station at night, the Chicago station at sunrise. They only bother my fringe coverage.
Still have a ton of stuff to move; all my ham gear, test equipment, audio stuf. This will be time consuming to say the least.
I will try to post some pics when everything is in place.
The all new MRAM location is mentally pictured as a suite of room (singular) at the top of a ladder built over a garage.
Perhaps a part 15 elevator would help, although the back half of your car would be sticking outside the garage.
Will you ever be allowed to go back into the main house?
I am sure your new man cave will be worth the effort. If you follow Carl's suggestion about an elevator my question would be is there a length limit for a Part 15 elevator and does this include the pit at the bottom?
Congrats Bob.
Neil
The elevator pit is below grade and doesn't count.
The iron work above grade is 10 feet and will serve as the radiator. Since this is a hydraulic lift only the elevator car base needs lateral support.
A loading coil encompasses the bottom of the elevator shaft and the position of the elevator car set's the tuning for the system.
Lighting in the elevator car is flourescent and will serve as the RF power and modulation indicator.

Oh, MRAM?
He hasn't been heard from since mentioning an elevator shaft 24-hours ago.
Yes, I'm still here. I'm a bit overwhelmed Moving all my stuff has become quite a task.
I have way to much stuff. It was all packed into an area about 8' X 10'. You wouldn't think there could be that much stuff in a little area like that but I've begun to run out of places to put the stuff and I've only moved maybe half of it.
I'm going to have to divest myself of some of this stuff as I don't want my new digs to become as cluttered as the old.
This is going to take a while...
I have the same problem when I do a tidy, things move from one side to the other, but it at least it refresh's my mind what Im hoarding lol.
I built two tables, each is 4' x 8'. That's 32 square feet of space per table.
I'm trying to keep the setup very streamlined. In my mind on one desk I see a computer monitor, keyboard and mouse. There is a small 14 channel mixer, a couple monitor speakers and a mic. I also see at least one turntable and a combo CD/cassette player even though everything currently runs off the PC.
In reality there is a 2nd computer monitor, keyboard and mouse as one of the computers is not compatible with the KVM switch which shares one keyboard, monitor and mouse with up to four computers. There's also a Pioneer A/V AM/FM tuner/amplifer to drive the monitor speakers. The real estate is dwindling fast. The Talking House and a DBX compander have shown up but they'll have to reside else where.
The other table will be for ham gear, test equipment and space for repair work. Currently it has become just a collecting point for all the other equipment not yet sorted out. It's completely full and there's more stuff yet to come.
I have a 6 foot tall equipment rack which could be used to house some of the equipment. Of course now we're talking more floor space.
I haven't even addressed all the antenna lines that have to be brought in - in addition to moving the antennas from the house to the garage where my new room is.
Oh yeah, my regular office desk is coming out here too!
I really thought I'd have plenty of room since I was in a room 8' x 10' and now its almost 16' x 20'.
Yes, this will take a while.
Completely forgot about all my Reel-To-Reel machines, DAT multi tracks and record collection.
AAAAhhhhh...
Do you sense timbers creaking and the floor sagging?
What did you say it was, above a ten car garage?
Are the locks being changed to keep you out of the main house?
What are they going to do with the vacated space over in the house?
You could always add a penthouse up above.
How strong is the electric service, about 900 Amps?
