i have mixed feelings on this. their constant rush to nit picking of part 15 operators while letting blatant FM (watts to hundreds of watts to even kW's) piracy get often off the hook for years makes me want to see these these cutbacks happen but then i am afraid the pirates will run rampant on the FM bands (and that the fcc will quickly lose control of things) turning the FM band into another chicken band if they do go away which will hurt legal part 15 fm operations.
It enters my mind that the TIMING of the FCC's cutback-talk co-incides with their bold takeover of the internet.
The new rules that are being put in place for controlling the internet look rather elaborate, which means they'll require enforcement.
Could it be that the real plan is to shift enforcement away from broadcasting and over to internet policing?
