In Number 82 we join a recent meeting of ALPB (Association for Low Power Broadcastrs) and follow up on a suggestion by Canadian Member Artisan Radio who proposed doing seminars on subjects useful for low power radio stations. We are pleased to bring you Seminar One on easy preparation of a world newscast for your station.
A promotional message examines "How We Sound," and a war composer steps out of character by writing a polka.
During the time remaining we bring Part 1 of an NBC Radio 30th Anniversary broadcast from 1956.
Lower than ever, you can find No. 82 here...
The ALPB seminar was really good, too. I
learned a bunch of things and
enjoyed it very much. I felt like I was
in the same room with all of you guys.
Crud - Life calls, but I will probably have
a few more comments. I haven't really heard
the end of the show yet.
Another wonderful show in the can,
or box, or file cabinet, or harddrive,
or cassette, or in my case - wax cylinder.
Bruce, DOGRADIO
More NBC radio history audio. Bob and Ray -
silly as ever. Absolutely timeless.
Was that a PDQ Bach piece in there?
Great Show!
Bruce, DOGRADIO
Oh my goodness. PDQ Bach in No. 82?
Now I'll have to listen to it.
where.
I rest my case.
Bruce, DOGRADIO
who I thought it was.
Bruce, DOGRADIO
You can be in the "same room" with others live at the ALPB meetings by simply installing TeamSpeak(R) and even if you choose not to participate you can listen without talking. There is a chat box available where you can type comments if you wish or you can simply plug in a microphone and join the discussion with audio.
Just contact Bob, MRAM1500 via the ALPB website page and he will tell you all you need to know.
Back to the topic, Carl, thank you for the LPH and also for the seminar you lead.
Neil
That's why I haven't joined the ALPB yet.
My wife works a lot on the one other computer
that we have. And sometimes when she needs
it - it has to be availble. So I have to make
it available pretty much all the time.
This too shall pass.
I don't feel right joining the ALPB until
I have an operating station again.
Brief explanation:
DOGRADIO will be back on, wherever we go.
(We are moving - to where, I'm not sure.)
My future is carrier current. My protype homemade
coupler worked, and I am facinated about homemade
couplers in general. I am starting to build another one,
but this is another test unit. It will not be the final
product. Also, I'm not crazy about the frequency
I'm on. It is a good channel during the day - no
problem there. I just want to be lower in the
band. It is hard to do that with an LPB RC6-A.
ANYWAY this also will pass.
I'll be in that virtual roon wtth you guys sooner
or later.
In the meantime, I will just enjoy what I
hear, on a slightly delayed basis.
Bruce, DOGRADIO 1020 kHz CC experimenting now.
