Hello all, I have until recently used my local Radio Shack as my resource for soldering irons and other related tools.
Sadly all my local Radio Shacks have closed thanks to the world wanting that dreaded mail order way of doing things, to which I personally HATE waiting a week or more for stuff to ship from China.
As much as I hate mail order, I'm stuck now with that being my only resource for purchasing soldering irons, tips and all other tools related to working on electronic projects, circuit boards etc..
I created this thread in hopes of getting some decent suggestions on reliable web sites that sell quality stuff, ships quickly and doesn't break the bank at the same time.
Offer me links and why you recommend them as a good resource for all things soldering and circuit board work.
Bruce.
Here's two places where I get all of my personal solder stuff. They're both somewhat local to me but they ship anywhere.. (And Quickly!)

Hi MrBruce.
I just got new Weller solder tips from Jameco Electronics, a very friendly company that has been around a long time in Belmont, California.

I have purchased Haako soldering stations from Kiesub Electronics. Good prices and fast shipping. A decent Haako station will run about 60 to 80 dollars and you won't be disappointed
I have purchased equipment and supplies from Circuit Specialists. If shipped from stock, they are very fast and the prices are friendly for many items.
For wire, batteries, connectors check Powerwerx. Prices can be a bit high but service is fast.

I've used Haako in my other life. Very good stuff.
Good suggestions so far, just wanted to thank all of you who have posted and welcome more suggestions.
I'm not affraid to spend $100.00 USD on a good soldering station, I know Weller was always a good product when it came to quality soldering stations.
I'll be checking out all the suggestions made so far and requesting catalogs from those companies that still ship them via snail mail.
Bruce.
