Hello guys. I'm interested in trying to link the audio signal coming from my main I.AM.Radio transmitter to two others I have positioned elsewhere in town. Love the efficiency of the units. I've read about rangemaster's syncing methods. Most people think they are the only transmitters capable of being synced. I had a retired engineer tell me linking can be achieved with any audio signal that is transmitted, period. He didn't explain to me how and isn't able to assist me now; he's in Europe till fall.:(
Take care.
Well you would certainly be able to sync the audio, but that doesn't fix the problem you would have with the carriers beating on one another. It would sound horrible where the signals overlap.
I imagine it could be done, but it could be difficult.
Any suggestions on methods I could to sync the audio signals? I will place them sufficiently apart to avoid overlap.
A guy on Youtube suggested using GPS to link/sync multiple transmitters. Even suggested using 10MHZ clocks. Ever heard of that? Interesting!! On a different note, I read a report on Hobbybroadcasters.net, where it field tested i.am.radio, rangemaster, procaster and other transmitters. To my complete surprise and delight, the i.am.radio unit slightly outperformed the rangemaster. Both got distance of 3/4 of mile mounted on 10 foot masts I believe, yet, they described the signal of the former as traveling a bit further. If mounted even higher, they felt as if they could've increased the range of them both. The procaster did well too.
