ON THE AIR right now, from San Juan Community Theatre .... Hilarious!

Thanks to your posting, Ken, I was in time to enjoy the second half of the KWIT Skit, and loved it!
The talent abundant in Friday Harbor is way above average... everybody did a great acting job and the voice characters were well done.
The technical quality exceeded that of many efforts, even at the network level. The microphone placements were exactly right on, very distinct, with no phasing between microphones. In fact, what model microphone and how many were used?
That was a perfect radio production.
They do it every year now. Main vocal mics were just three, the actors gathered round and/or shifted a lot ... AKG C-1000's. The SFX ladies used SHURE SM57's I think, the guitar and keyboard amp I'm not sure, but I believe it was close-mic'd. Ran through a Mackie Compact Mixer like this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/mackie-profx12-professional-compact-mixer?src ="3WWRWXGP."
If you look at the pic, you'll see the unit's RCA Tape Out jacks at top near right. That was the feed to the same little netbook I've been using for all the HS sports broadcasts. I was in an adjacent room to the control room. I use a Clearwire USB modem for connecting to Shoutcast with B.U.T.T. software broadcaster (simple, free, and small memory use, it's a rock, never failed so far) which also has an MP3 (or OGG) archiver.
