After several years of streaming and part 15 AM/FM I finally figured out that I needed an evening that went "off schedule," a time when I could do anything I felt like.
In fact thinking way back, the first station I worked for had a show on Saturday night called "The Audience Takes Over," in which mail and phone requests were played from a library of classical records.
What I started on Friday night on KDX is more like "Carl Blare Takes Over," and one thing I do is play strange new shows on the search for new shows to add to the schedule. Or, if the mood strikes, sound effects records of natural disastors.
This week is a wonderful "Part 15 Night," the schedule is printed above.
Atrain Radio's RANT was fabulous. I totally agreed with everything he said and was shouting, "That's right! You said it! It's about time somebody did something!"
Tim's Headlines from Bovey is always a collison of important news stories and remarks that show it for what it truly is, it's hard to explain but it's funny.
"Little Things" from Blue Bucket Radio is BETTER than being a guest in the Dizzy, Kentucky home of Barry and his family and friends... it's like NOT being a guest yet hearing what they'd say if you weren't there. It's a wonderful show. Right now they are talking about the wrinkles in the brain.
None of this would be happening without the ALPB.

For the 2nd week KDX Worldround Radio is throwing a Part 15 Night during "Blare Territory" at 8 PM CDT.
I just checked Atrain's website and the 2nd edition of "Rant" is not yet posted, but this guy gets things done fast and all-at-once, so it could popup at anytime.

Every Friday night in May is Part 15 night, featuring programs produced by Part 15 broadcasters.
Tonight May 8 will also include a program from a professional broadcaster who will probably have a Part 15 station when he retires.
It looks like things will begin on time tonight, 8 PM Central Daylight.
8 PM Blare OnAir Lite "Personnel Trouble" will bring Buster Boatrocker's Commentary on Topics in the News, he being less than thrilled about the outsider rants which mess with his job security;
8:10 PM Atrain's Rant has not yet been heard by me so I'll be tuned in wondering "what could it be this time?;
8:40 PM The Phil Hendrie Show with caller Justin Mackelroy regarding the court decision to allow "One Nation Under God" to remain in the Pledge of Allegiance. Justin believes we should be able to substitute our personal diety in place of the word "god.";
9:10 PM Tim's Headlines from Bovey;
9:15 PM "The Little Things" from the home of Blue Bucket Radio... an open microphone provided as a courtesy to the NSA.
It'll be good so that's why you should join us
CAVEAT - Yes, be sure to wear your caveats... there's a 50% chance of an electric storm tonight... if too severe KDX shuts down and speeds away in a Uhaul.
Now if only WHAR's Free Thinker Radio Studios had a back-up uhaul.
Ya, tonight at 8 CDT "Carl Blare Territory" presents programs from Part 15 radio stations.
Oh, one exception... we will have an early Henry Morgan Show from WOR New York as heard on the Mutual Network... the earliest and greatest ranter in history. A bit of history.... in the early 1990s Henry Morgan was guest on the early David Letterman Show, and while he was in the middle of a rant Dave cut away for commercials. When the show resumed, Henry was gone.
