Hello ALPB Members.
I am looking around in the ALPB Forum to become familiar with it.
I cannot remember what we said at any meeting about this forum, I guess it's only for members of ALPB, but from what I can tell non-members can read it but cannot post to it.
At the next meeting, if I still remember, I will look forward to a discussion of the status and plans for the ALPB Forum.
I'm going over to the open forums to see what's over there.
I have inspected your inspection tour and to the best of my ability have determined that you have passed the inspection inspection. You are now free to proceed without further inspection.
Following my recent Inspection Tour of the ALPB Forum here at part15.us, I have meditated as to how this Forum can best serve a purpose.
If it is private for Members Only I think it is pointless, since the members already meet on Team Speak every two weeks. I believe that when we, the members, come here to part15.us we want to join with the entire part 15 community.
But I have reached the conclusion that the ALPB Forum could serve a purpose if it were opened to the entire community, as a collecting point for input to the ALPB, that the Membership could then represent the general part 15 person at its meetings. A kind of "Open Lobby" where the ALPB is directly accessible.
I hereby propose this matter be opened for discussion at the next Meeting.
I'll second Mr Blare's motion, now the floor gets to vote on it.
Thank you Johnny C., but I am reversing my Motion and taking a different position on this ALPB Forum.
Here is my new point of view, inspired by dreams:
In this ALPB Forum Thread the Members of ALPB have the platform to communicate ALPB Business to the general population of part15.us, and so it is excellent that this thread is publicly accessible for reading.
The "privilege" of posting to this ALPB Forum belongs to Members of ALPB, and of course anyone is welcome to become a member, subject to the Charter.
It is very logical as it is and I approve the message.
MORE ADDED --
Therefore my NEW MOTION is that the ALPB Forum be kept the way it is.
I conferred with Lefty, owner of the TeamSpeak account which the ALPB uses.
He feels it would be to much of a risk to open the server to the general public as it would be difficult to monitor and control its use.
As such, and I agree after hearing his reasons, he will not open its use to the general public.
I would think if the majority of members want this feature, as a group we would have to obtain our own TeamSpeak account.
By the way, I used the "Preview" feature hear several times to proof read and edit my typos before posting FWIW.
I guess my reply was with regard to another thread requesting opening the ALPB TeamSpeak server to the general public. I forgot which thread I was reading.
No amount of typo editing before posting will help when you're daydreaming...
I think so too.
The Team Speak needs to be guarded so that wild parties or other sinister activity cannot happen there. Money laundering or tobacco smuggling.
The ALPB is headed for the future like a rocket! Hope we don't damage tomorrow by a sudden impact.
