Great Idea # 874
As we have heard, podcasts have become a "now" thing that everyone is doing.
Websites are producing podcasts to accompany their text and video, individuals have moved their social life into spare bedrooms where friends and family gather for weekly podcasts, religiously motivated podcasts proclaim the magic of belief and smart people flaunt their geek by podcast.
Step two for all those pod-people is to get the effort noticed as far and wide as possible.
Low power radio stations have something that podcasters need... we have air time to sell!
Get your podcast heard by the streaming market, purchase airtime from low power radio stations and expand your penetration!
The best buy in mass media... only $250 per hour, marked down for a limited time.
I just wanted to see if the old post found under the "temp" category could be revived.. I'm about to find out when I hit post.
As long as I'm at it I figured I might pass this curiosity on which has nothing to do with our hobby (or maybe it does?)
Primitive intelligence in brainless organisms, https://www.iflscience.com/fungi-throw-shapes-raising-questions-about-primitive-intelligence-in-brainless-organisms-76656
"You'd be surprised at just how much fungi are capable of," said Yu Fukasawa of Tohoku University in a statement. "They have memories, they learn, and they can make decisions. Quite frankly, the differences in how they solve problems compared to humans is mind-blowing."
Didn't know where to post this, so the Temp. directory seemed appropriate.
$1 Million Prize Offered To Whoever Deciphers This 5,000-Year-Old Script

This couldn't be farther from the topic of radio, but if you decipher this it's worth a million dollers to you, and fund your part 15 ventures.
I never heard of the "Indus Valley Civilization" but apparently they existed in the India/Pakistan region 5,300 years ago. The fuss is about this stone slab that shows a bull, two stars and..
"....six unreadable characters that Cunningham described as “certainly not Indian letters”.
Several thousand examples have since been recovered, each featuring a central animal and a short sequence of characters..
Sick of waiting for researchers to crack the code, Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin – Chief Minister of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu – has now announced a “cash prize of $1 million to individuals or organisations that decipher the script to the satisfaction of archaeological experts.”

Actually, Carl, this is a good idea. The problem with podcasts is they're like an SNL comedy skit, they sometimes go on way beyond when people stop being interested.
I am moving towards this ability for the station, or other purposes, because I learned video production with Final Cut and an Adobe Suite some years back. And while a buddy and I won't make documentaries like we thought, I have kicked around a short series of "podcasts" and videos.
Part 15 done in six episodes and stop. Or perhaps three episodes. No CGI. Might be fun to do a 'Ted Talk' like series about our nerd-dom in Monty Python Flying Circus style, complete with silly voices.
Having studied Youtube videos and such, if you keep the podcast/video to 3-5 minutes, and stick to a strict script without all of the tedious set up I see in most videos, it certainly works. There is no need to blather on for 30 minutes. It's not on Youtube anymore, but I produced a trial video that ran 3 minutes on proper silver brazing for industrial production. Up until the time I took it down around 2016 it hit several million views.
