I have an Inovonics 222 in very nice condition. I also have the manual. I see that in April, JGanley sold one on ebay for $500 http://part15.us/node/1976. I'll take $300 plus shipping, or make me an offer. I may consider a trade for interesting electronics gadgets.
Actually it did not sell. The two highest bidders were both shill bidders (new accounts set up during the auction) and bid far over the other bidders and effectively killed the auction. That was the third time in as many months that has happened to me on EBay, as EBay does nothing to protect sellers, and does not allow sellers to give buyers negative or neutral feedback any longer.
Just my rant on EBay...
Thank you for sharing your experience. I was thinking about selling stuff on the Bay, but now I'm not so sure.
There is growing dissatisfaction with ebay for the reasons listed above. An ominous article here paints an even darker picture:
venturebeat.com: Can ebay rebrand itself?
So, where do we find an alternative? This next article lists some alternate services, but also points out that all of the alt-auction sites are a flea on the back of ebay in user size.
tinaja.com: Alternatives to ebay
Also some alt-auction efforts here:
That leads to the question "Are fraud and abuse even worse on the smaller sites?"
The good news might be that among our users an alternate could emerge. There are thousands of low power broadcast enthusiasts visiting this and the handful of other sites dedicated to the hobby, so it would be pretty easy to publicize a good alternative to ebay.
Anybody have any suggestions or good experiences to share?
Since the 222 can be used on AM Amateur Radio Transmitters, try QTH.com
Do you still have thi Inovonics or did you sell it?
Yes, still have it. $300 plus shipping.
