i just installed that pll board in my hamilton and it don't work worth a crap!!!!! no signal. it's installed correctly and of course because mr hamilton and other manufactures are so darn overly proprietary about their schematics i cant fix it myself!!!!! i need to pay mr hamilton to fix and since i don't have any extra money around for at least a year guess what. i'm done. tired of tosses good money after bad!!!!!!!
then for all these efforts have to worry about NAL's and NOV's.
the aggravation aint worth it anymore.
this is art of why i haven't been on much i'm getting very fed up with everything
i'm a hothead and major dumbass. had s1 and s2 reversed when setting dips was setting 2 on 12 and 1 on 2. and dyslexic.
rm1k has good strong signal on 1450 now
I think you're a good man.
You have done beautiful engineering
work.
I'd just wait around and look at the
coolness of your set-up.
Things will get better.

kc8gpd, if I understand the messages just posted, you ended up solving what could have been a costly malfunction. I hope I'm right in reading it that way, because happy results are great.
I make huge mistakes everyday and most of the time fumble my way out of them. Tonight I lost my Grundig portable that I carry everywhere, and I thought I had left it on the porch and that a bunch of people trying to get me to sign a political petition had walked away with it. But after a 15-minute search I found it!
I will be trying to add a PLL to a long wave transmitter. Not very confident.
Very much so. Everyday, all
the time.
My friends say to me, "One step
at a time - easy does it."
KC8GPD, I'm glad things are
working now.
Because of my goofy sense of
humor, I was going to sign off
this post with my station name
typed backwards. Then I decided
against it.
I decided not to make light of
dyslexia, it's a serious matter.

That kind of stuff NEVER happens to ME! It's lonely being perfect all the time ;D
Best Regards!

i did get it working but i have been getting very frustrated with alot of things lately mainly brought on by the bad economy and some of what i see going on in the us that really scares me and then when i thought i had a 600.00 brick i finally lost my patience. and it still true hamilton, chez, RSI and other certified transmitter manufacturers need to not be so secretive for those schematics. no one can use them. that design is certified in their respective names and cannot be certified by anyone else and the schematics are useless for building your own certified tx because just because you build it from a certified design does not give the tx fcc certification. it's only certified if the manufacturer builds a tx from those designs.
the only thing with holding schematics does is give the rest of us who can trouble shoot our own tx's a bigger headache.
now i just need to get my FIM up and running and i can compare rangemaster to sstran and have readings to back it up.
Wow am I disappointed that so-called "professional" equipment comes without a schematic! That is very Mickey Mouse, I can only agree about that.
Before buying equipment always ask, "Does it come with a schematic?"
I think of a lot of the things
you think of too.
But that's what the radios are for.
When you get your FIM running
that should be very interesting.

hi carl
none of the part 15219 type certified tx include a schematic only the kits. they claim proprietary info and many like iam and rangemaster dont even have their certification info online at fcc site. also that illusive 22 pg eb field manual. its my firm belief if these documents on the rangemaster and that 22pg feild manual were to see public light of day there would be a lot of Brownie sandwiches goinh around
You can always trace out the schematic on the circuit board.
