elsewhere yet again,,,
we are "unoriginal legacy people" now who "steal things"
They have heard of us.
just imagine what we would have accomplished toward furthing the goals of part 15 microcasting if the webmaster over there and his disciples would have all pulled their collective heads out of their collective figrative rectal cavities all those years ago and we just freely shared information and recources between the two sites and had open transparency between the two sites.
i liken this to what is going on in world events but on a smaller scale.
if we hadn't spent the last few thousand years in a purpetual state of war we might be contacting extra terrestrial life, have unlimted free clean energy, be colonizing the oceans, moon and mars, starting to venture outside our own solar system using warp drive, flying cars, you name it.
I seen it yesterday and ignored it. Yup its fine to steal photo's from other sites and call names but someone brings up a topic which to the best of my knowledge there is no copyright on topics. Therefore its not stealing. I just thought that topic was something you folks would like. Since I'm going AM in a few days I thought about actually signing up for membership over there. Now I choose not to because they are not about part 15. First it was to argue about FM now its to argue about something else. I don't have time for it. They would have had me as a member. I won't be teased and made fun of like a school child. Its too bad like I said they are the king of AM and I could get lots of good info there. If I do join I'll use a VPN and a different name and not add any info from this site over their site. That is all I'll add to their foolish behavior. I will say this it was probably the reason I wanted to make the FM initiative work. If only one reason to throw it in their face and show them WE ARE LEGACY PEOPLE.
that some of them visit here and read posts. It is nice that some of us visit there and read posts.
What disappoints is that comments are made on opposite sites rather than where the posts appear, but such is the nature of friendly (I hope) rivalry.

What site is being referred to as "over there"?
Mark
HBnet
I just noticed that the verbal shot 'over there' that is being talked about has been removed. That's the first time I've seen anything like that, so maybe there's some hope yet that the two Boards can reconcile their differences. I'm sure there will always be disagreements (we certainly disagree here about many things amongst ourselves), but perhaps we can reach a point where both sides can respect the other's viewpoints.
Getting rid of the personal attacks is the first step.
I use both sites pretty equally. Both sites have very valuable information with very good communities.
I see this site as more of the super experimental side, and the other as the tried and true engineering side. For whatever reason some folks just seem to really hate that.
I must admint that at first after what happened to Bruce I was not a big fan of the site. But I've actually read their stuff befure June 5th when I tried FM. Now I got my AM Transmitter Today and the FM transmitter is OFF AIR. I'm not using it now and if I do use it the transmitter will be set to -48 dbm which doesn't even get outside my house. The AM is a iAM 5.0 (Talking House 5.0). Came with the Wire antenna and a mic. It was already set for broadcasting from my Computer. I'm on 1630 AM. So now that i'm NOT using FM I should no longer be a threat to HB. I know they are really not PRO FM but again I'm AM now so I'm not doing anything they would be against. I'll wait a while and sign up under my name The Legacy. But I want them to realize that I'm not transmitting on FM first so there is NO threat I'd be turned in for broadcasting on FM. Then like I said I should be welcome over there. I am using stock AM (I wouldn't know how to jack up the power if I wanted to on AM I suppose there are Linears you culd buy, but I'd rather have a good antenna). So again I don't think they will see me as a PIRATE because I'm not using FM now. I just want to learn about building AM antennas inside ones that I can use for my transmitter.
I guess the whole I can do better than you thing was silly anyways. Who cares who posts what first. Since I'm trying to get more power on AM as well again I don't see why now they would hate me or want to call me names anymore. And even Bruce was talking about experimenting with AM Stereo now. FCC wants us to play on AM I say why not try it. I've been playing Album Rock on AM starting after 1PM Today. Well see what happens from it. Sometimes silly experiments turn out to be great ideas in the long run. If the FCC inspects my station I'm doing nothing wrong. I kept all the manuals and certification proof for my AM transmitter. If real estate people use it its not illegal.
Another duplicate post deleted. This is happening (at times) when previewing a post before saving it to the Board.
I see this site as more of the super experimental side, and the other as the tried and true engineering side.
From my experience and observation, the HobbyBroadcaster board discourages posts with engineering content and supporting graphics as being just part of a "paper blizzard" of information about which they have liitle or no interest.
When you get your Talking house up and running let me know if you get a lot of humming with the signal. Did you get the older version or the newer I AM enchanced version?
Mark
There are a couple of things you can do to reduce Talking House hum.
You can put ferrite cores around the power cord.
You can add a ground isolator to the audio line.
But the thing that made the most difference to me is switching where you plug it in. Originally, I had it on the same circuit as my computers, and it was picking up a lot of noise. I then switched it to a new circuit (one that barely had anything plugged into it) and the hum almost vanished (it was still there, but you really had to crank the volume on youir receiver to hear it).
I've got the NEW V5.0 iAM transmitter. It came in the Talking House box but the manual said iAM and the box said Advanced Talking House 5.0. It came with the Wire antenna and the Mic too. I have the antenna running up the side of the window and the top is across a little bit of the window. I'm using the wood to hold the wire in place since the Landlord does not want anything that may peal the paint off the wall. I get out to the end of the street as far as I can walk without crossing it on my boom box. We get a lot of air conditioner noise here at least on my boom box which does not have good AM. Going to have to get someone to drive in a car to see how far this thing goes. There is not really a hum. I hear a very faint one but since I run my automation software and there is rarely more than 7 seconds of silence its so faint you don't hear it. I'm playing Its A Beautiful Day – White Bird right now on AM and it don't sound too bad. Never thought Album Rock would be acceptable on AM. But when I run my trigger ads for the Internet part of the station I play promo's over AM and you don't hear the hum. Actually its less hum than the SainSonic AX-05B FM Transmitter. The Audio is NOT FM quality but not horrible for AM really surprised me on that part I didn't expect much for AM. My slogan is “Bringing Music Back to AM!” I know Lowes in Elizabeth City now listens to my station on the net so their info either came from the old FM station or the New AM side.
As far as Hobby Broadcaster why is the paper documents now allowed to be discussed over their? Doesn't make sense to me. Its a good thing to know in case I ever decide to sign up over their I would not be breaking their rules. I know their more strict on what their willing to tolerate over their that is for certain.
