TWO important developments in free news casts for Part 15 stations:
1.) FSRN (Free Speech Radio News) is back in business with a weekly half-hour newscast released every Friday afternoon from
2.) CPR News (Community Progressive Radio News) is a new daily half-hour newscast produced from the New York area and available from Radio4all and from their own website
CPR News sounds great!
I will see if I can automate the download using WGET.
Thanks to ALPB Member Carl Blare.
Ever since Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans I have attempted, with each calamity, to become a source of timely radio information, as there is usually not a continuous and reliable source of fresh news from the scene of the events.
Now the Ferguson Story is unfolding only a few miles from The Internet Building right here at Worldround Radio, but despite the fact that KDX is a genuine member of the news media, there are no journalists I can send into the action.
The best Ferguson reporting I've found comes from the team of on-the-ground, reporters from Info Wars, the Alex Jones Show produced from Austin, Texas.
The mainstream tv and newspapers mostly recite news releases handed to them in an air-conditioned tent two miles from the unrest, while Info Wars is in the tear gas with their HD cams.
The Alex Jones Show is three or four hours per day, and I remove the commercials so the story can be uninterupted, but starting tonight I'm going to go one further step by combining the commercials and running them all back-to-back following the Jones Show, in respect of the fact that Alex earns his operating budget from the advertisers.
The CPR Daily News, linked above, also does an excellent job of covering big events.
Another excellent 58-minute daily newscast is the Pacifica Daily News from the Pacifica stations in California.
The program is uploaded at 7 PM or after every evening (central time).
Commie stuff.
That's an old worn out idea my good fellow.
Although I have been hearing a lot of false reporting from the right wing.
False reporting from the right wing? If I am wromg and I could be, the left has been out to hang the police officer in your area with any access to the facts. Now that being said, I cannot believe in this day and age there are no dash cams in the police cars but they have military artillary.
The story in Ferguson is already a classic mix of anger vs. reason; facts vs. rumor; opinions all over the place.
But Urban Dictionary says this about "Commie"
shortening of "communist". can either refer to an actual comunist or a pussy liberal. Can also be used to insult pretty much anyone for pretty much anything.
I have been called a right-wing liberal.
I can't resist "getting into it" when it comes to labels, like "left, centrist, right, zealot, conspiracy-theorist, cynic, all the labels.
It's fun for me to get into the definitions and meanings behind labels.
Much of the time I don't actually "get" what a label is supposed to mean, so I try to learn.
Then when I try to pin a label on somebody I usually pause for a long time while I try to figure out which label applies.
I knew a girl once who called me a "Vembletroon," but then she had to spend 15-minutes explaining what that meant, and now I've forgotten, both her and the label.
