I am continuing my studio clearout with backup and not used gear. This is a Talking Sign AM transmitter, the precursor to the ProCaster (it is Part 15 & RSS210 certified) that I had mounted in a weatherproof box with a whip antenna for a few months, and then used indoors for another 6 months (because of the installation conditions, I actually achieved better results with my inddor installation - I ran the antenna wire through a PVC pipe so that the end was over the roofline of my 1 story house, and got up to a mile range in some directions with a sensitive car radio). It still works fine.
Cosmetically, it is in good shape, but I took the rubber feet off to mount it in the weatherproof box, and lost them, so they are missing. There is also a bit of caulking on the underside that I accidently got on it when sealing that box - it should come off with some goo gone or other such solvent).
I am including the wire antenna and the 3 prong power supply (ground is supplied via the neutral on this supply and it was certified in that fashion).
Because of the minor cosmetic flaws, I am only asking US$50 plus shipping (US$20 - a bit less if you're in Canada).
The Talking Sign is far superior in construction to similar transmitters such as the Talking Sign - it is housed in a metal cabinet and the tuning is manual, unlike the Talking House which has an automatic tuner that can be problematic in terms of accuracy and reliability. It also has much better sound that those transmitters, although I can't speak about the IAM enhanced Talking House, as I've never used it (I HAVE owned multiple older Talking Houses).
Paypal is preferred, and you can contact me via this Forum. If there is no interest within the next few days, I will be listing it on e-bay.
IIRC yours is unique since it powers up in LIVE mode.
That's true. I bought a number of them, and the then Talking House company (which became ChezRadio) made a firmware change at my request for them to boot up in live mode, as opposed to playing-the-recording mode which was standard at the time.
Did you get up to a mile with the indoor install just with the 10 ft wire and no ground except for the power supply?
Also does this have a tubular attached antenna like the procaster or just a connection for the long wire?
May be interested at this price just to have an AM transmitter IC certified.
Oh yes, is certification ID on label?

I don't believe you're going to get a mile range with any indoor antenna on a Part 15 or RSS210 compliant device.
I used some creativity in installing this transmitter indoors. I actually mounted it on the ceiling of a room, threaded the wire antenna outside, ran it up inside a PVC pipe so that the tip of the wire was over the roofline of my 1 story home. I had it plugged in to the AC mains inside, so there was no additional ground. The 1 mile range was in the direction (several of them, actually) of the least development (i.e., obstructions). In other directions, which were more built-up, it was anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 mile to a car radio.
You can either use the supplied wire as an antenna, but there is also a terminal to use an external, 50 ohm antenna (you cannot use the internal tuner), which is very similar to the Talking House.
I'm not sure how to attach pictures here. E-mail me at artisanradio at (replace that with the symbol) gmail.com and I'll get them to you.
edit - And yes, the FCC and Industry Canada ID's are printed on the back of the device.
