Alrightee then. I purchased this outfit last year, more out of curiosity than anything else (and the fact that I could actually monitor modulation of my AM Part 15 station).
Yes, this seems to work exactly as described. It comes with the unit, the off air/Part 15 unit and a direct connecting unit for connecting to a commercal broadcast transmitter rated 0-10V input.
I used this to check modulation on my Part 15 station with a simple wire loop antenna on the side of the house adjacent to where the antenna is outside (a couple feet between the transmitting antenna and the loop, with the house wall inbetween. It worked just fine. I also used the direct connecting unit to read modulation from three commercial transmitters, a 1000 watt Collins, a 5000 watt Harris, and a new 5000 watt Nautel. In each case the modulation indicated on the AMM-SD-1 was consistent with that shown on the stations installed professional monitors, a Belar and Inovonics units.
You need a Windows PC to use this. One reason I'm not keeping it. I can't STAND to use a Windows computer, and it's the ONLY reason I had a Windows laptop in the house. (The computer may be for sale soon as well, but a co-worker might be interested and he has first shot at it so I don't have to ship it).
All the information on this bugger is at their website, http://www.radioassociates.com/
I am asking $250 INCLUDING insured priority mail shipping to anywhere in the USA. I'm actually selling it because I bit the bullet and bought a brand new Inovonics 525 modulation monitor, and have no use for this setup now. I swear it's just like brand new, and basically only used to prove to myself that it works.
I'm pleased to accept Paypal, money orders, even checks that don't bounce. This is $172 savings over buying one new from the company, so if you've been thinking about it, or have a hankering to experiment with one, here's your chance.

The asking/shipping price is more than fair. 🙂
I keep thinking I should get this, but very much hope someone beats me to it.
The reason is, I'm WAY over budget and don't expect to catch up for several months if ever.
But as WDCX points out, it's more than fair.
my issue is nobody is buying from me so i can't afford to buy from anyone else or i would get this.
Post ur stuff on QRZ
I went ahead and put this bugger on ebay. Are we allowed to tell people that? It's at:
And I'm starting it at $199. I see REA is now out of stock on the units AND their price for the basic unit has gone up to $209, so add in the RF pickup for Part 15 at $199, and shipping, it makes my offer seem almost insane! Maybe some ham will pick it up!
Anywhoo, FWIW there it is. I just don't need it sitting here taking up room when I have no intention of ever firing up a Windows computer again.
